Self Build In Stroud

My wife and I are now a year into our 1st (and maybe only) self build. We are building using Durisol ICF blocks and apart from the ground works, have pretty much done everything ourselves. Rather than go for a standard design that's straightforward to build we've gone curved walls, stepped foundation curved green roof . . . . not surprisingly progress isn't lightning fast but it is steady and we hope to have the walls finished sometime in November.

What a great looking project - amazingly ambitious - especially for a 1st build!  Just the excavation looks like it would have been quite daunting.

Hi, we are just about to start our icf next week, we are near Cirencester. 

 

Did i I bump into you in R AND R TOOLS. 

 

would love some details on the roof timbers. 

We have taken some of our plans into local structural timber companies, and been met with a few puzzled faces. 

 

What sort of finish will you have on the curved underside, we want a timber ceiling, but very interested in what others are doing.
