Our 7 meter Glulam is only some 160 kilos in weight. The original plan was to get a crane and pop it in that way. But 160 kilos, I mean .... 160... that's just a bit heavier than me after I have had a serious curry.

So, thinking about a telehandler or pulleys or something. Thinking Out Of The Box anyway.

Yes, I know, thinking's dangerous.

But 160 kilos for Gods sake. 'S nowt.

You did say you wanted out of the box thinking, work back from there.

I’ve put in heavier glulams than that with just two of us. Just need to make sure you have something to rest it on in stages.

Think positive, when that weld breaks the falling beam won't hurt so much :/

Two scaffold towers, one either end, bump it up and rest on a chunk of timber, go to other end and bump up that end, raise scaffold tower by inserting another transom, bump up again and add another transom.

Cost, nothing

time 2 hours.

Crack on son.

A Genie lift comes to mind...

Yup, used one of these to lift two 140kg baths up to first floor.
