I have just called around to get a quote for 24m3 of C25 and have quotes from £120/m3 to £191/m3

Given that concrete is something that you don't want to get wrong, is there anything I should be aware of here as that is a massive difference.

Make sure your access is OK for the truck.  Could be 3 x 8m3 loads.  32 tonne each.  Hopefully the lorry can back up near the trench, maybe either end.

Ideally you want trench inspection 1st thing, then concrete early.  It can be annoying hanging around then having to work late because you are not a priority customer.

I really need to hire a pump as otherwise, there is going to be a lot of manual raking

If there is space, a lorry mounted boom pump is a real time saver.  Hire a rotating laser level.  You will still need a mate to help.  The pumps make a fair mess when they clean out.  You can end up with a fair amount of concrete and washout, so plan somewhere for it to go.

I recently got a load of C30, all the local suppliers were very simalar prices, and at the lower end of the scale you've been quoted.  You could ask the more expensive ones why, are they further away or delivering in smaller loads or something.  Get more quote to see if there's some simalar with costs?

Make sure you get a pump able mix then. Will be a bit more than you've been quoted

ours was 120 with an extra 600 for pump regardless of how much we had.  we had 3 lorry loads.

they co-ordinated themselves, sent one and then the other one despatched whilst the first pouring and same for the third one as not enough room for multiple lorries

We've found, not sure why, that we've needed more for every pour than we originally thought.

First lot was mix on site, next 2 were ready mixed.  There is a company near here who are slightly cheaper, but they are supplying Sizewell C build and a huge wind farm and I wasn't convinced that we would be treated seriously.

the guys were brilliant and worked really hard in 30 degree heat, anyone remember that last summer 🙂

But, not perfectly level due to drying very quickly, but as we need insulation and screed for UFH it's fine.
