Onoff Posted June 21 Posted June 21 What about the other sides of this concrete column? Get in there with a thin vacuum nozzle. Get it as clean as then flood with the black stuff? Difficult to see without a bigger picture but I appreciate you don't want the BAU to know where you are...

Mot type 1 - asphalt ends in that green line just about
Pocster Posted June 21 Author Posted June 21 I’m going to dig out that mot1 area infront and to the left and right a bit . Try to pull the membrane back a bit . Fill that with concrete . Then bitumen everything so the bit in blue will be concrete
Pocster Posted June 22 Author Posted June 22 Cleaned it out . Didn’t need to go very deep until I hit some concrete ( presumably poured after the slab just to fill in the trench around it ) . That bit I painted bitumen on had some very loose stuff under the edge . Flipped that out and there is a potential gap there . So going to fill will concrete but keep it lower than the asphalt and then bitumen the lot tomorrow.
Andehh Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Bitumen down first, concrete over the top, bitumen on top? Double layers of water resistance?
Andehh Posted June 22 Posted June 22 That gap between the block and historical stone work has got to be a major weak point to focus attention in? 1

Andehh Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Are you able to dish it/level it to push water away from the wall??
Pocster Posted June 22 Author Posted June 22 4 minutes ago, Andehh said: Are you able to dish it/level it to push water away from the wall?? Bit tricky . But I will bitumen paint up the wall and stone a bit . I’ll thicker paint at that junction also to create a slight fall .

Onoff Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Sort that crack which has the veg growing in it! Rake it out, vac / clean etc.
Pocster Posted June 22 Author Posted June 22 (edited) 22 minutes ago, Onoff said: Sort that crack which has the veg growing in it! Rake it out, vac / clean etc. next to the quoin you mean ? . Yeah I’ll rake that and bitumen paint into it Edited June 22 by Pocster
Pocster Posted June 23 Author Posted June 23 Hmmmmm . Had long light showers last night and it leaked . It’s concerning because that corner wouldn’t have pooled I don’t think and the concrete is right up to the roof edge . Though not bitumen painted wasn’t expecting that …..
Pocster Posted June 23 Author Posted June 23 1st coat done , will do 2nd later today tbh I’m even more sceptical this will fix it . Rain tomorrow so I’ll get a free test ! I do have a new theory on what might be going on , but I’ll keep that under wraps for the next episode!
