I thought that might get the attention of @Pocster.

As I get older, I think I know why older people prefer baths.

Shower bases are blinking slippy, as I found out just now.

Are all shower bases made equal, or do some have ridges, or rough bottoms to collect lime scale.

All I know is mine is dead smooth, and somewhat disconcerting when wet.

I had some shower bases where it was as if they were covered in eel juice.  Fortunately after a bit of wear they are slightly better.  For the current development I have specified non slip Mira Flight.

Sorry I’m confused .

You talking about your shower tray or that thing between your legs ?

We have a wet room with tiled floor.  The choice of tiles was based on what was likely to not be slippy when wet, and we chose rough tiles that resemble sandpaper when dry not flat and shiny.

Yes we've got those in our wetroom, although we didn't choose them. Wendy curses them because they are so difficult to keep clean.

I've put in antislip shower trays. They have a texture a bit like sandpaper. They take some keeping clean, but better a dirty shower tray than a broken leg...

White Stone Effect shower tray here. The one we have isn't  slippy. Set flush with tile floor, open one end and works well.

Needs a scrub with soap once every couple of weeks, easy and quick to do.

Rough tiles are no problem: a glug of bleach, a brief scrub, wait a minute, rinse. Done.

According to Wendy , that's just man cleaning, not proper cleaning! I'm keeping well out of it.
