I thought this would be easy to find. presumably I don't know exactly what it is called.

Screw fitting is 32mm

So it's an elbow but the thread is reversed i.e. it screws upwards. So like a 90degree conversion bend but screws upwards ( hope that makes sense )

I looked at

threaded elbow

drain threaded elbow

32mm elbow

can't seem to find it...

Nearest I've found is this

https://www.bes.co.uk/polypipe-32-mm-white-threaded-coupling-solvent-11867/

or maybe this?

https://www.toolstation.com/mcalpine-compression-bsp-connections-bend-90/p62086?store=null&utm_source=googleshopping&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=googleshoppingfeed&mkwid=_dc&pcrid=null&pkw=null&pmt=null&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD-vLcVa5oxgpUmv6KLSvo8W1HJDI&gclid=CjwKCAiA0rW6BhAcEiwAQH28IpW2puBtiAGeNWUHrUg0QczTpzLtjOM2H1swydNIFvQ9tGmzuqwRIhoCJEQQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Assume the 'ribbed' end isn't an issue... could stick rubber washers over it I guess...

What is it called!

What is it from?  If it's one part of a packaged waste trap, the intermediate parts are often not a standard size that will tit much else.

It came with the mvhr - I need another . It’s the drain vent outlet . So screws into that then smooth end slides into water less flexible trap .

Yep - I found that . Wasn’t keen on 50 quid for the lot !

Screwfix do something similar but ribbed again

Could always file the ribs off I suppose . Or just fill the rib gaps with ct1 ?

The fitting this end goes into is rubber so assume would fit with a push

So the ribbed one is called a

32mm Female Inlet Nut x 1.1/4" inch BSP Male Connector McAlpine 90° Bend - S4U

Ordered one and will see if I can bodge it to fix .

Just a thought.. But surely at some point it goes into a standard sized pipe. Could you not try and joint to that rather than bodge two standard fittings into each other?

The end goes into a rubber trap . That then has a reducing rubber which takes it down to 21mm pipe . The mvhr came with all this - so obviously I just used it . Making another seems more trouble than it’s worth . I’ve sourced everything else just this fitting .

Just a point.  You kept confusing me with this "ribbed end"  It is not ribbed, it is threaded.  Perhaps you were thinking of something else?

Yes . I guess maybe to stop confusing to the other threaded end . But @ProDave when the action is on you ain’t gonna care if it’s screw or ribbed 😉

Of course, me being me and liking a challenge, if that was the nearest available but I didn't want a thread on the right hand part, I would be tempted to put that on my lathe and turn the thread off

Pah! that's taking the easy route.  You should put the  pipe it goes into on the lathe and cut a female thread in it 😜

Right ! Got that fitting .

I thought a quick trip to BM - easy !

Been to 3 . Not only little stock but zero knowledge of plumbing ! I.e less than me !

What screws into that threaded end and preferably gives me a 32mm outlet ?

Looking at the fitting I have ; if I file off the thread there’s a ‘nub’ making it too large to fit the trap - so that’s no good .

What thread is on the bottom of the mvhr unit, if a standard size would it not be be easier to just start from there and ditch what was supplied?

Thats exactly what I have done . That fitting is a 32mm thread - it fits the mvhr drain output . It’s fitting off of that where I’m struggling . So that 32mm threaded elbow needs to go into the water free trap .

Oh the old 'how do I mate this with that' game. I've spent many jolly hours in DIY sheds holding two white plastic components in my hands with a quizzical look. Helps if you're good at jigsaws. Stick to one quality brand if it's you that's choosing. Otherwise good luck 😁.

Exactly! Hence the trip to multiple BM’s !!! . Thought this would be so easy and I’d be an expert plumber once more - alas no .

Might have to buy the friggin 50 quid kit just for that magic fitting !

That's what I'd do.  Plastic waste pipe and fittings is a game that no-one other than the bleedin manufacturers win.

Have you tried a Plumbing Supplies place instead of a BM? There’s one near me who are incredibly helpful and without whom I would have been lost on many occasions doing the sort of thing you’re trying to do now. They have huge stock stuff and every size and shape and thread  imaginable.

I could have . But you know you feel like you’re dicking about just driving all over town . I’ll accept that as a professional plumber I failed at the finish line . Shame will haunt me forever …
