Ptfe pipe

I hate these .

Fridge freezer has 1 inlet from mains tap to filter then into F/F .

Wish F/F was Hep2o 🤣

Anyway . When I have to replace the filter - for the love of god I can’t get the ptfe pipe off either end - so I cut the filter out .

Clearly , one day I’m going to run out of pipe !

What I *really* want is ptfe to ‘magic fixing’ to ptfe . Then I can remove ptfe pipe after the magic fixing into the filter . I.e I can cut the filter out as many times as I need - just replace ptfe pipe after magic fixing .

All makes (expletive deleted) all sense ; yes ?

To get the pipe out you need to remove the little blue clips, then depress the ring. Kinda like JG speedfit. Works every time for me with no need to cut the pipe.

I’m sure I tried that inbetween swearing . But will try again ….

On the basis that we have nice clean mains water, we didn't bother with the filter, and the hastle of keep changing it.

Make sure you give the hose a good firm tug, be rough with it.

Measure the OD of the pipe with a Vernier and report back.

It aint PTFE pipe and that colleted ebay fitting isn't the right job.

 

as they say above, flick the blue lock collar off and depress the ring just like any other JG fitting...

 

Oh and the fittings unscrew from those filters so you can swap'em onto your choice of BSP ended filters.

Out of interest what is it if not ptfe ?

Push the pipe into the fitting whilst pushing in the blue ring then pull the pipe out.

Can’t get this out .

Blue clip off easily enough .

Depress what ring ? It’s solid plastic . Pipe won’t just pull out …

removal tool required ??

These end caps are meant to go over the end of the filter then according to ‘easy’ videos you just push in and pipe slides out . My end caps have a thread whilst the filter doesn’t ….

New filter has slots - like a Hep2o disconnect key …

Got really (expletive deleted)ed off with this .

All the videos - it’s real simple , no effort .

Decided it was time for pliers - pulled the (expletive deleted)er apart . Tiny white clips came out with pipe . Ffs

All done and moved the 160kg fridge freezer into place .
