I agree, but the sums of cash required if you dont know what you are doing, or can do it yourself , are eye watering.

Nah - grow a pair . What will electric cost in 12 months ? . I don’t know . But it will be more than today . Get some installers in and quotes .

I'd never even considered presence detectors in terms of payback time. I got them to do automation, including automated lights coming on (including low level markers at night), manage audio, set the blinds to reduce glare on the computer screen when I'm in the office, and such like. The fact it can turn off lights and appliances and save money is a bonus.

Hi @joth when you say low level markers at night do you mean using the LED's inside the presence detectors for illumination?

During commissioning, I noticed the Loxone ones have a few different LEDs inside to indicate status. Would be really neat to use these as lighting at night but am guessing it would involve hacking them.

No, my presence detectors are ceiling mounted.

I'm talking about this sort of light, mounted on the wall about 500mm up from the floor

Motion activated at night, it's probably guest's favourite thing about the house

Nice touch.

The Touch Pure have the little LED downlights that are good for a little illumination in the middle of the night. Unfortunately I don't have any switches on the landing/hall. Would be really nice to hack the Loxone presence detectors for this but my software skills are lacking!

Those light fittings looks splendid. Dimmable too. I see some have drivers built-in but others require an external driver. I am interesting in a driver that can be connected to HomeKit.

I wonder if they can be driven by, for example, IKEA's LED TRADFRI driver.

From memory they're mostly 650mA constant LEDs so if you don't like the (very cheap built) dimmable driver that comes with it you can replace with another driver of choice. I have 6 of them in series down the stair stinger, and these are off a replacement driver.
