MikeSharp01
It's a bank holiday so we can work unhindered although I just noticed our local BM delivering stuff to a site up the road! Sunny here also, but raining tomorrow, so think I will have a day doing something else, maybe read an improving book- EG a treatise on the finer points of ASHP standby power draw. Will say that the standard of driving has plummeted this week. But on the bright side, did manage to get in a free parking space in town.
ProDave
I won't post you a picture from my window, it would only upset you. I'm off out on the boat this afternoon. Mustn't forget the sun cream.

saveasteading
Working at ours today. Our ground is remarkable, and something I had never come across before. About 12m thick pure, single sized, sand, plus some bands of cobbles, as laid down by glaciers. It is strong and dense as can be see by this picture of the ground, with deepenings for columns, hand dug with vertical faces. 300kN/m2 by our tests. Ask for details if interested.
joe90
When I lived in Shropshire the ground about 300mm down was pure sand, never found the bottom, easy to dig founds and what came out I blinded the hardcore with. What I’ve got now is brick hard clay, just tried planting some plants and I needed a hammer to break up the clods, will take years of organic matter to get it better. Actually I have an unlimited supply of cow muck and been reading that it’s just as good as horse muck if rotten down well so it’s piled up under an old carpet “ageing “

That is a stunning photo of the ground! Me too never seen such clear definition of the layers and the distribution of the particle sizes. 11 hours ago, nod said: Sat here waiting for the rain to stop Looking good Nod.. the rain will stop! 3 hours ago, ProDave said: Yes the weather was dreadful. SteamyTea
Yes, Bourton on the Water. Usually stop there as you can park for half an hour outside the Londis. And they have a Costa coffee machine. So cheaper, and nicer, than most other coffee places. Queen's Bench needs recarving. It is a decade old now.

Have you tried that odd cafe, run by some religious group where they don't have set prices, you just donate what you feel it was worth.

Not knowingly. I would walk out with the collection tray. About time I got my jacket buttons back.
