True, but I have gas in my tank which I pay for after it’s delivered. If they go t*ts-up then I haven’t lost anything!

I might though.

I am not sure if they are still owned by Shell, but my Mother's pension is.  So every months extra she stays alive (4 extra so far), she gets richer as she is uncapable of moving.

@zoothorn, we had a hard frost last night and when out feeding the chickens I noticed my ASHP was beginning to frost up a

little due to the high RH, It went into defrost mode (rare fir us), no more noisy than running normally, went indoors and had to turn the radio off to hear it running. This is what a monoblock ASHP does, even with a buffer tank and pump!!,

Maybe @zoothorn should get a radio?

5 minutes would be impressive.

But it was 5 seconds.

"The experiments produced 59 megajoules of energy over five seconds (11 megawatts of power)."

I am well aware of the path they have taken and it is why the new research place is in France.

Is 59 MJ about 16 kWh?  What I used yesterday.

I think the 5 minutes was a separate milestone at a different time.  Even from near the start 20 second runs were normal.  At some point they maintained containment for 5 minutes.

Still think you'll find the fusion reactor makes no noise.

Well the one that is currently running does.

I would be more concerned, if I was of such a mind, about the radio waves affecting my brain, and therefore thoughts.  ASHPs do have water in them after all, and we all know that water vibrates, just like radio waves, and our brains contain mostly water.
