Russell griffiths Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 Morning all. I need an airtight tape to cover the gap between my ceiling pir insulation and the inside wall face. The problem is my walls are EPS insulation and it’s this I’m finding hard to stick to, anybody found anything that likes to stick to eps.
dpmiller Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 I'll check for you today on some EPS, but the Siga stuff we're using seems to stick like sh*t on a blanket, to everything... 1
scottishjohn Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 a thick coat of pva or emulsion on eps and let it dry -so tape of choce will then stick to that ? 1

Declan52 Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 I used this stuff to stick the airtightness tape to my block work and the pir on the ceiling. https://passivehousesystems.co.uk/product/gerband-fortax-6400-airtight-sealant/ A good bead along the edge then push the tape onto it. It's flexible so will move as the different materials move. A word of warning though don't get it on your hair as it doesn't come off without a razor or scissors. 1

dpmiller Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 The Siga Sicrall sticks well enough to pull individual beads out of the EPS. 2 1
Russell griffiths Posted November 30, 2019 Author Posted November 30, 2019 Smashing job, thanks for all the replies.

Expand think that will not work well over time bitumen based could shrink as I suspect the bitumen part evaporates and glue probably will react with it Edited November 30, 2019 by scottishjohn
Onoff Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 Stickiest tape I've found is probably the tape that comes with the shower tanking kit.
