Apparently I'm being sent a new PCM58 which is being made to order in a week or two. I'm tempted to say delay it until Sunamp have one that both fixes the bulging and maximises excess PV only trouble is I can't have holiday cottage guests staring at a partial installation with a mass of pipes and controls for a year or two. Do we know if there is any intention by Sunamp to modify the control system to ensure excess PV can be pumped into the device even if it is only 5% discharged?

I brought 3 LED semi flexible 2 metre long: But 2 drivers blew straightaway and the replacement drivers seem unable to power the lights - they have a terrible connection consisting of just a couple of sharp nails. I checked the driver output voltage and my multi meter is saying 220V! Anyone got any LED strip light recommendations? Going on top of a wood beam illuminating upwards to reflect of ceiling so needs to be pretty powerful.

Just learnt mine bulging PCM58 Sunamp unit is to be replaced with one with an upgraded case, additional insulation and internal strapping. Another day's plumbing labour too ?

Ditto had no problems with these - accept I put too many in one room so it's a bit like an operating theatre

Just checked and yep all fittings that have had failures have no upward air holes to allow hot air to escape (non are recessed as such but as mentioned are all 'un-vented' : new acronym ULF 'un-vented light fitting')

I've tried various different makes and all seem to have bulbs that blow way before the 50,000 hours. Crompton have been good at sending replacements free of charge for the early blowers.

Difficult to photo but my PCM58 Sunamp container is bulging. The lid was also bulging and this has been replaced by Sunamp. Anyone else having their sunamps bulging?

The system works! A ASHP feeds a PCM34 Sunamp that acts as a preheat for a PCM58 Sunamp and also a ufh buffer. The PCM58 has an electric immersion element to charged it ( to be solar PV at some point in future) Though the late addition of a back up pair of Willis units added some complications: @Nickfromwales can explain it in detail if anyone wants to know more.

ufh Xtrafloor® Flex Pro under LVT - any good?

Considering Xtrafloor flex pro again, can you explain the above in layman terms please? Surely my floor temp will never be 27Deg - will be uncomfortably hot to walk on! -

Same bell but driven by a relay controlled by Raspberry pi monitoring two infrared sensors on my gates. The only trouble is the bell can not be heard in all parts of the house so using Home Assistant and a MQTT broker, I intend for the Raspberry Pi to publish a topic to the MQTT broker when ever the infrared beams are broken and a wifi Sonoff running Tasomota will be subscribed to that topic and will ring a bell, make a buzz elsewhere in the house. Still working on getting the C program on the Pi to call the MQTT broker though. -

I'm slowly setting up Home Assistant Hass.io on a Raspberry Pi 3B+ running a Mosquitto MQTT broker and Sonoff wifi switches running Sonoff-Tasmota firmware. But it has not been easy. I'm using MQTTLens to help debug and test. Anyone else using Home Assistant? And if so what for and with what devices and software packages? -
My gravel drive is edged with bricks sat on a concrete footing. The lawn grass that is over the concrete has died and been replaced once. It establishes ok but then as the roots get longer and reach the concrete it turns yellow (after which last time it died off). It is like the concrete is poison to the grass. Looking for ideas please on how to get this grass to stay alive please.

Not sure how he managed to upgrade his existing solar PV array and still get FiT - or whether he offset that against the VAT saving on PW2

Plate heat exchanger - insulating

The available insulating kits are listed here: https://www.wiltec.de/catalogsearch/result/?q=insulating+jacket But Wiltec (eBay) confirm there is no kit for the 125 unit - which I think is a B3-23-30 unit -
I have a Hrale Stainless Steel Heat Exchanger 30 Plates max. 125 kW Plate Heat Exchanger installed in a cupboard. However there seems to be no matching insulating kit available for this device. Any suggestions on how to insulate - or just live with a jolly warm cupboard?
