ICF wall hangers - Lavann..
Alexphd1 replied to Big Neil's topic in Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF)
What exactly do you mean with block crimp? The joist was made at the factory. -
Worth giving the guy who done the buildhub cylinder group buy deal a call. Trevor at cylinders2go.

Rim joist and metal beams where in place. Everything was marker out and measured then supplied to manufacturer. -

I didn't realise you could make posi joists on site. Luckily we have a factory a few miles from us and ordered joists in small quantity, think smallest order was 15.... All joists where made in factory, we have a metal I beam in centre and used this side for a few mm packers where we had more tolerance on top chord. The minimum was 45mm overhang on top chord, the timber is 47mm wide and the top chord is a mm into the eps. I did have a few sleepless nights between ordering and joists arriving! -

No brackets. Top chord of joist is sitting on the rim joist. -

Never knew this tool existed. I like a shinny toy as much as the next person but TBH I don't think this would be on my list, It's pretty easy to hammer a 40mm twist nail even in quantity!

We done exactly as on video. Then hang the posi joist on top chord on the rim joist no metal hangers. The rim joist also reinforced for the pour and worked well with zont bracing, it may get in way of metal bracing? We made the mistake of cutting the hole between every second plastic tie (nudara) thinking this was metric..... the nuts and washers clashed with the joists every now and again..... We just stuck in extra joists and sorted out 400 centers when clear of nuts again. Also put in a cutting of plastic dpm between the timber and the concrete. Worked very well, replicate on build 2. -

There is a few options for hanging joists. We went the cheapest but most time consuming. We bolted a timber batten into the concrete around the icf and hang the posi joist of the top chord on the timber batten. -
Anybody know any good cheap suppliers for 1.6m high sliding wardrobe door. Nothing fancy no glass! Opening is 8m in length.

We bought all (not flue) our biomass stuff inc boiler from https://kotly.com.pl/kategoria-laddomaty-217.html?l=pl If the power supply fails to the laddomant it still allows a natural thermosiphon circuit which will work with the heat dump usually a permantlt open radiator. Dont forget air points in that system!

"@Pete we used another Austrian manufacturer and our story sounds V similar!.... 12 months, stuff arriving wrong, glass in wrong way etc Luckily local distributor stood good and sorted the problems.

We went the other way, give archiectect strict instructions for bare minimum lighting/wiring drawings for building control, choose sparkie and agreed on hourly rate with us supplying material. Worked a treat! -
If you can't have the UVC in the cupboard upstairs then move the UVC to the back right hand side of garage. Run the jack/Jill on bedroom 2/4 ensuite direct it will only be 2-3m of pipe. Have one manifold in upstairs cupboard running rest of house. The runs from the cupboard are pretty short.

+1 on prodave says.Keep on top of it small runs regular to local tip.

we received 1 price of £133m2 for stainless all in inc box gutters etc....... change of plan after that!

Ideally would be 2000x1000 but stud work not up yet so flexible. I prefer the look of a wet room but tbh it's a ensuite that will rarely be used (2 weeks a year), so for work and cost thought tray would be easier. The chip board is heavily glued down on to posi joist so not keen on butchering that up! Need to get layout 100% sorted so we can fit the UFH pipes. Main ensuite which is a concrete floor will be a wet room.
