Guess it depends on the house layout . I was well impressed how dry stuff becomes just put on an airer with mvhr - but yes perhaps I haven’t done the softness test …
-
Mvhr negates need for a TD 😊

Options for MVHR boost control
Pocster replied to crispy_wafer's topic in Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR)
I have this model of mvhr and was initially prepared to wire a wireless relay to boost it based off a humidity sensor in bathroom etc . The reality was ; as the run ( deliberately ! ) is very short to bathroom and ensuite it automatically boosts itself within 30 seconds of a shower / bath . So I would ‘allow’ for wiring to boost it but in practise may not be necessary. -
Typo ? Years surely ? 🫤🤣

I have found in the past as a LL - if the work quality is plainly “ sub standard “ you tell the tradesman you’re not going to pay . 9/10 if you stand up they back down - if not you say you’re gonna bust their face . It’s not nice , it’s not “ who I am “ - but honestly ; they’ll square up if they think they have a chance .

Splitting the plot would be a dream ontop of your existing dream . An important point @Bozza makes is that even for a super fit stud of a man like me after 11yrs my back and knees are (expletive deleted)ed . Chiropractor couldn’t believe what I had done on my own ( amount and weight of materials ) - guaranteeing a shagged back .
-
Yeah most likely . Those socket points were a bit high . Tbf that’s how I do my socket holes .
-
I thought he was just making holes for socket back boxes …

Mouser is good ! I’m waiting on my esp32 s3 box 3 - out of stock everywhere. Then replace Alexa with local voice recognition 😊

There’s also … https://shop.everythingsmart.io/products/everything-presence-one-kit As a diy kit ( a bit cheaper ) . I’ve ordered another fp2 as I was so impressed …..

I’m just assuming bco might be picky . I’m going for a pre hung door so as relatively expensive want to get it right. I’ll do as you suggest 👍
-
Ermmmmm . So you mean utility room door opens into kitchen as kitchen leads to escape route . Yeah ?
-
It’s WiFi not zigbee though does have BT . I’m waiting on matter to mature - like zigbee / z wave I think it’s gonna take time . What I do like is being ‘technology’ agnostic - so can change relatively easily as technology improves .
-
I can’t be arsed to google so …. Internal door goes from kitchen to ‘utility’ room . I decided to please bco to (expletive deleted) off ; I’ll make it a fire door so no chance of complaining . But should ( or need to ) open into the kitchen or into the utility room . Does it matter ? My bco might complain as before about the dead body jammed against a door so can’t open it BS ( only body might be his ) .

Had some ghosting issues - but pretty much mitigated them now - with a single person at least I.e me . Can track upto 5 people ( that will get tested over Easter weekend ) . Currently just triggers dining lights - so easy to test and no big issue if fails . Ultimately could replace my person detection frigate tpu’s for internal lighting control anyway .
-
Yes . Easier to test in lounge . Once satisfied can migrate to bathroom . Patience @joe90 I know you get off on these things 🤣
-
Not yet!. This test is in the lounge!

This is good ! This is SO good . Really impressed after an initial test setup . Detects myself and location relative to it with impressive accuracy and speed . Got SWMBO to join in ! . No probs . Get the occasional ghosting I.e a 3rd person ! - more tinkering required . Not often impressed with a cheap device - but this is so cool - can’t wait for 3rd generation .

I’ve been quoted around 300 + vat ; so far . So similar ball park . Mine ain’t gonna leak nowt

What about a WiFi bridge ? https://www.4gon.co.uk/ubiquiti-rocket-m5-ac-pointtopoint-wireless-bridgebase-station-p-6258.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwh4-wBhB3EiwAeJsppAu1ypJmsw2qKT8OqJ224j83XuC2IG1755UfcVB8t7cp182gu3rJShoCRjsQAvD_BwE&gad_source=1 for example . Line of sight would be best . Buy them on Amazon , test , return if shite ( Amazon is good for these things ; test and fail …. )

No ‘edge’ to the driveway so you could duct ( above or below ground ) ? Have another internet connection installed at the garage - then it’s all cloud based 🫤😊
-
There I was thinking it would be at least a grand ! ( apologies messaged you before reading forum )
-
What is a sensible cost for this ? Does the costing take into account the size of the property ? I.e larger it is , longer to fill with air ?? ta

No chance of ‘shallow’ ducting and threading an external grade cat 5/6 cable to the location of the video doorbell . I know a pita but if you can do that and get the cable into your main build ( via loft / hole in wall ) you’ll have obviously the best connection . Power line plugs are a bit of try and hope . You might be lucky . I would suggest when you try the power line plugs you speed test at each end to see just how well they are doing relative to your isp quoted speed .
