Wall tiles out of level / not flat surface
Pocster replied to MortarThePoint's topic in Wall Tiles & Tiling
Back butter tiles . Adhesive on wall and notch . Don’t want any hollows especially if anything is mounted to the tiles . Though back buttering not strictly necessary for wall tiles … -
Wall tiles out of level / not flat surface
Pocster replied to MortarThePoint's topic in Wall Tiles & Tiling
Must admit on 1 particular wall I noticed this . I would tile a section a day . 2nd day ( did as you did - put a straight length against tile faces ) I could see wall was bent . Wasn’t going to rip all those expensive tiles off the wall . So I ‘gently’ went with the bend . Can you see it ? . Nope . The ‘bend’ is over a longer run so easier to hide . Then once shower cubicle , toilet etc etc all wall mounted it is imperceptible ( unless you (expletive deleted)ing look for it ) . Lesson learnt by me . Professional tiler should have learnt that lesson some time ago ! -

I like "music room" aka sex dungeon and also "control room " presumably the cctv recording and editing suite? Once chained the thoughts of "how do you overcome cold bridging " will become a distance memory as you experience the pleasures.....

I don't own this particular saw but as it's the yellow and black dream machine it's bound to be top notch!

Vent Axia MVHR - Boost switch wiring?
Pocster replied to Andeh's topic in Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR)
I have this unit and was prepared to add a boost maybe linked to HA . What I found is the unit boosts really quickly automatically so it wasn’t necessary. If you shower then within 10 seconds it ramps up . I did make sure the vent pipe runs to bathrooms and en-suites were really short I.e mvhr unit is near too these . -

What causes new skim plaster to crack in stud walls?
Pocster replied to SimonD's topic in Plastering & Rendering
I did my stud and boarding much to everyone’s humour . Only one small place where I missed a stud - thought (expletive deleted) it be ok . Only place of course the plaster has cracked …. Noggins become your new friend -

Yeah I went underground for a variety of reasons. Indeed I then increased the space underground ; as you say - difficult to object to something you can't see. Walk on glazing is MUCH more expensive now. I would say the price has quadrupled since 10 yrs ago. I do know a company that seem pretty price competitive on this though. Used them a few times for those bits of glazing I 'missed'. PM me if you want their details.

I had a few trays and naturally assumed supplied waste would be good . Eventually as advised on here I gave up ( I couldn’t stop them leaking no matter how hard I tried ) . Got a proper waste and trap . Instantly felt better as I installed it . Neither have leaked since .

Wastes supplied with trays are almost universally shite !
