Hey all So got these pull cord curtain rails ( hate things like this ) . One of the slider bits that the curtain hooks to is broke . Its the one beyond the bit of plastic in the rail that drags everything else to open and close . So I need a new slidey bit ( technical term ! ) . Can’t see any way though you get that bit out though to remove broken bits and replace . Forgive useless description!!!

Fitting a large enough cold accumulator may be an issue I.e where . Might the option be to drop the electric shower and just have mixer like the others ? . I wanted one electric shower originally as a fail safe in case uvc failed .
-
Builders looked again. One of their suggestions was to tee off 15mm first from the water main coming in direct to the electric shower. I can't see a reason this wouldn't work (water pressure is good) ; then the electric shower has 'priority' over everything else. This a good plan ? ; better/worse than pressurised accumulator exclusively for shower??

I did exactly that. I was more worried that the BT hub having wifi enabled might restrict /penalise AP access but guess not. Renamed 'do not use wifi' which means tenants will try of course. :-)))) Just gone around the house with my phone connected and seen it 'switch' as I roam - so happy!!!
-
It would seem bt hub 6 cannot be put into 'modem' mode :-((( I *assume* thesis of no issue if no-one connects to it? i.e. just used the AP's???
-
I thought you didn't *have* to have a controller!? (just using my mac) As if by magic 1 has adopted! ( no idea why it's working now apart from me swearing at it) 2nd is no 'provisioning' - I'm guessing thats a good sign! Cheers
-
Struggling with this Have a BT hub 6 and 2 unify access points (only 1 plugged in ). Can't 'adopt' it. Also it would seem hub 6 can't go into 'modem' mode. Will the matter? (assuming I sort out this adoption issue first) - can people just connect to the AP and ignore the hub 6 wifi . ARGH! not exactly plug 'n' play Any help from unifi people appreciated

Meat and wine can sustain you through your tiling woes .
-
No proper food means mitring is poor ! Steak is food of the gods
-
It’s Saturday night ! Wine and steak surely ; not tiling ??

That’s a neat mitre !

But I would invalidate the warranty yes ? It is brand new .

That’s exactly what I have

You lot will like this ! My requirement to the builder was that 4 uvc showers and an electric shower could run simultaneously ( lower flow of course ! ) and be usable . Someone gave a nice diagram of a system to do that ( showing a cold accumulator tank ) . Anyway right at the start of the refurb I showed it to builders “uvc expert” ( the guy who installed it ) . He’d “never seen anything like that “ - so it was left . Today I run the electric shower and 3 uvc simultaneously- guess what ? . Underflow light comes on electric shower and naturally water cold . Builder takes a look - he’s never heard of a ‘cold accumulator ‘ . Anyway he has to do some ‘internet research ‘ and undoubtedly will retro fit a pressurised cold accumulator just for the shower . I didn’t say “I told you “ . The more I employ ‘trades’ ; the more knowledge I gain ! ???

I did think this also Funnily enough I had a washer repair guy at a different property and asked him . He said the ‘ in built ‘ hose fixing ( internal ) isn’t something you can always change . Think I’m going to just drill through the wall to the drain outside !!

Start a CCJ perhaps ?

Nah ! It really is ace . Once you have the wires lined up the push thru rj45 does seem to guide them through . Quick visible inspection ; then a surprisingly gentle ‘crimp’ action and you’re done . If a 2nd referendum was a crimper it would be this crimper . The other shite crimper is Brexit .

It’s a dream ! https://www.screwfix.com/p/ideal-industries-rj45-ft-45-feed-thru-crimp-tool/8518x
-
Well ! What a difference proper tools make . This push thru crimper is excellent . Also the new cable tester is great ( display a little poor to read as unlit ). So far out of 5 fitted rj45 ‘s ZERO failures .

I don’t mean involving the defendant ? Just a 15 mile tail back I believe .

Case adjourned due to serious accident on motorway .
