Hey! Interested in putting some of these in the bathroom. Want ones that have user colour selection. What I don't want is the transformer/controller near the LED strip . Ideally I want that mounted in my utility room and run a separate cable to the rope light. So my question is what type of cable must run from controller to light? - as it's colour selectable I assume it's some non standard arrangement? Guess if I had one it would be easier to understand ?

Yeah . What I don’t like is the instructions don’t mention any of this . I really had to push them for an explanation of how this all works . Will update once I have door and post etc .

Here’s the exert “ It’s a wooden doorpost designed the cover the current doorpost which converts it to suit the glass door. It’s glued over the top of the doorpost for the wooden door I believe, which would cover up the screw heads. “ whatever ! Sounds like a bodge too me !
-
Well ! Eclisse didn’t tell me this ! But ..... Apparently with a glass door you get a wooden doorstop post ( !! ) that glues over that vertical . So you can screw through the face of it . None the less I’ll wait for the actual door to turn up ....

Really ? Is there nothing CT1 can’t do ?

Must quote this to my wife when she says “ when will we be moving in ? “ . No need to translate her response to my reply ... -
Exactly . The door stop ( as I understand it ) is in the anti slam mechanism in the horizontal header rail . I haven’t installed this yet as I don’t have the door . The instructions also ‘suggest’ screwing the metal frame from the rear which seems absurd - some kind of fixing would of helped
-
Re did the ensuite shower support .; wasn’t happy with it 20mm above finish floor ( gestimate ) . Now I reckon it would be more like 5mm ?
-
Right ! Got this fitted correctly and level apart from the opposite side of the door frame . That white is the finish so can’t fix through it . The frame is all metal with no fixings on that side or at the back !! . Can’t see any other option but to foam . Suggestions welcome ; before I foam and forget

I have already purchased a seperate Din rail box - can take 48 Qubinos - that should be enough ?
-
-
Yes ! My next question would of been height of WC !!!
-
Ok ! Think I’ll glue and screw your horizontal support and also the marine ply .
-
I like what you’ve done there - a chunky timber straight across . How did you decide height for the sink ? Might do similar as you and marine ply ontop aswell . You used mrpb on the walls not a water resistant tile backer board ?
-
Could marine ply the whole wall before tile backer board ...??
-
This is what I have. https://www.roperrhodes.co.uk/u/products/downloads/System-WM-500-600-800-1200-Instructions_V2_190503_110347.pdf Unit with sink will be heavy - surprisingly I.e worryingly it hangs on some simple brackets ( guess I was expecting some sort of metal floor fixed frame ) Apart from adding more stud and noggins - anything else I should do to make this a rock solid fixing ? Assume I still tile the wall fully before fitting . Walls were currently just due tile backer board

Yeah the regs / interpretation do seem a bit random . Think I’ll go with a loft AAV at the end of a horizontal run ( though AAV mounted vertically of course ) . Can always add an external stench pipe off the main drain if non interested BCO insists .
-
The freeview checker suggests it’s good . Though a 2 storey build ; 1 level is below ground so ‘height’ might be an issue .
-
Punted for 30 quid - can always return . Stay tuned ( groan ? )
-
No idea ! . The house next door ( which we use to own ) needed a booster ... Might take a punt . Stick it on a long stick and see if signal is stronger at front / rear or side of property .

You can tell it’s Sunday as I think about a multitude of things ! I don’t want a traditional roof Aerial . AFAIK I can’t put one in my loft as the foil backed celotex will not help a signal . looking at this type of thing https://www.diy.com/departments/tristar-outdoor-dome-digital-tv-aerial/571249_BQ.prd?ds_rl=1272379&ds_rl=1272409&ds_rl=1272379&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6N6FzcLW5wIVCbrtCh24SQHREAQYBSABEgImvPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Are they any good ? . Presume unlike a traditional aerial you don’t orientate - just plug in and go ?????

Ah confused myself again ! I’m sure the architect isn’t as clued up ... There’s lots of suggestion that you shouldn’t have an open stench pipe . Indeed you can even get an external AAV that sits on the stench pipe .. I don’t really want to penetrate the roof for a stench vent if it’s not necessary . Can I come off my WC internally ; take a pipe up into the loft and ‘joint’ it towards the loft hatch ; put an AAV ontop ? Makes access for the AAV easy , it’s higher than any cistern - but does it have to be a straight run ? i.e can the pipe work be horizontal for a bit ?
