  1. Lol. I remember with my hep2o pipe - I thought 200m would be enough. Ended up 600m I *think* 300m will be enough for the solid core on 1 floor
  2. Nah it's round .Just how the photo makes it look. Here's another picture
  3. Quickly went on eBay cat5e utp solid 24awg 305m £59.99
  4. Excel solid core cable ordered! - thanks guys! ?
  5. Only 1 hole - so I got that right !
  6. Supplier accepts its faulty . Wants me to post back the 300m roll - postage will be ridiculous- but they said they would cover cost of that . So I pulled out 30m from the stranded box - same supplier but different brand no issues . I think after this experience I will pull the length I need off the roll then install ; will cause more wastage - but I don’t trust any rolled cable now ! As I’m back in the market for solid core cat6 any recommendations??
  7. Supplier seems surprised and wants more photos . So expecting a refund . Bought a reel of stranded from them also - will pull out 20 metres from the roll and look at that .
  8. Yeah that’s what I’m doing . Side of box and unrolls ( until it kinks ) roughly every 5 or 6 metres .
  9. What should I do ? . Break the box open and unwind manually ???
  10. So ; I’ve got some solid core cat6 cable . As it comes off the boxed reel it seems to ‘snag’ inside and I get this in the cable . Is this nothing to worry about ? I.e cable unlikely to be damaged ? Plan to get a few through then wire them up to test .....
  11. Ah ! If BC is ok - then no probs
  12. Ok - so not that ‘kit’ . Have you got a link to perhaps what I should be looking at ?
  13. Anyway doesn’t it have to be installed by an approved Hetas guy ???
  14. Yeah yeah ; then my roof leaks like my glazing - then we all laugh as I cry into my beer . It’s another job I can chuck a few £££ at and it’s done . We’re meant to be moving in next year !! ???????????????????
  15. Not intending to install this myself ; but is the kind of kit I require ? https://www.gr8fires.co.uk/6-inch-twin-wall-up-and-out-kit?gclid=EAIaIQobChMInqrun_6Z5gIVRrTtCh0ftwZrEAQYBCABEgLymvD_BwE Any ball park pricing for an install ? I.e steel chimney through roof - flue running down inside property ; all BCO friendly of course !
  16. Right! I'm back on this! So those holes I have left for my bath/shower tray etc. I was going to insulation and fill with screed. But this seems pointless. Could I not just cement some blocks in and screw render board or marine ply onto them? Assuming that's ok .... I intend to treat the bathroom and ensuite as though they were wet rooms - but both will have shower trays. I assume once I've got my wastes/ supplies in ( and filled those holes) I just waterproof with impey or similar all around and effectively under where my tray is going? Here's the 'hole' for the shower tray (even though it will be almost flush with finished tiled floor.
