So you screw from behind I.e through the stud into the steel ? . Any special screws required for this ? ( presume wood screws won’t bite into the steel )
-
How did you fix the far vertical part of the frame ( on the right ) - doesn’t have any fixing holes at all .

Maintenance free junction boxes ordered ! thanks all ! Sparky won’t have a fit now !! ??
-
I think that junction box you link to will be perfect . I have plenty of space so that’s not an issue . Think I might get a few of those “ just in case “ I.e for next time !!
-
Ah bum ! Drill snagged one of my radial socket cables ! . Assume I don’t have to re thread an entire new cable through ? . What’s the proper way to join this ? I.e a way an electrician would be happy with ? this Ok ? Won’t have any access ; so needs to be fix and forget https://www.screwfix.com/p/debox-in-line-connector-box/8692H?tc=ST2&ds_kid=92700050366088830&ds_rl=1241687&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1249401&ds_rl=1245250&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI46ebq_y35wIViZntCh2eRAhlEAQYASABEgJi-_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Got the frame roughly in . Is this enough ‘edge’ for the frame ? Allowing for plasterboard ( can use 6mm if I have to ) and skim . As no finished floor have allowed 20mm off screed floor
-
Marine ply on this wall not strictly necessary but .... you know ! So pocket door frame will fix next to this . Then I’ll build a ‘skinny’ stud wall in front of that - once I understand the pocket door ....

The anti slam instructions have beaten me ! . Perhaps it’s obvious when you have the door to hand . For now I shall just walk away to stop my cursing

Powerline WiFi options?
Pocster replied to Jeremy Harris's topic in Networks, AV, Security & Automation
Devolo powerline exactly allows this . One ssid and you roam between them automatically with no issues . Speed you get though seems to be down to your wiring . Some seem very fast - others relatively slow . -

Devolo stuff has saved me many times . Pretty reliable. Suggest buying the latest models -
Drain not in yet . It will be top left corner . So I’ll break out one of my concrete blocks then break through the beam and block . Walk on glass - to look at what though ? . I suppose I could put a flat screen tv under it . Awkward to watch in the shower but would be a talking point ! Think @Patrick was interested in buying them for a Kings ransom ....

Timber support stud in . Much thicker at that far end because a pocket door sits there . Height for tray seems about right once I board with marine ply . Assume some ‘noggins’ across the centre for more support a good idea .
-
That was helpful ! The plastic bit doesn’t come out anywhere as easy as in the video . I now see that ‘box of bits ‘ is for a wooden door hanging so no good to me as I have glass !! ( yet to arrive!! )
-
No ! F off ! - it’s clean !! Ish .....

Ok ! Absence of initial instructions didn’t help . But frame ( cassette ) as they call it built . This white plastic naturally I assume comes out so door can hang / slide . Doesn’t feel like it wants to come out though .... Also got a box of bits . No markings on box or instructions. Possibly a lock ??? Finally an ‘anti slam ‘ thingy . As I’ve not removed the plastic in first photo - assume it’s obvious how to fix .....

Edge blocks for shower tray in . Tomorrow. Will build up the height in timber . Question regarding the water proof tile backer board - I assume this goes down behind the shower tray edges ; I.e it doesn’t sit on the tray ....? thanks to @Onoff for his ‘how to use ‘ ... ?
-
Ok ! Back on this as I need to build a stud wall to house the pocket door . So pic 1 the gap for shower tray in ensuite pic 2 going to cement blocks - get them nice and level . pic 3 . Will build up height with timber . Marine ply once at correct height .

I think I’ll consider it a necessity... thanks ! ?

Hope you recover soon ! ✊

So it is a necessity ?

Ok . But if you have no gas boiler ... ( in the rental the Combi boiler is not connected to the Uvc ) . So with just a ashp , uvc - erm - it does what ? I did ask for intelligent people @Onoff ?
-
Ok - I’ve googled and am confused ! So we will have ASHP and uvc - what does the buffer tank ( it’s only like 20l ) do ? Do I need one ? In a rental I have they just have a 300l Uvc for 4 showers and all DHW - seems to work fine . Someone more intelligent please enlighten me ! ?

It is tidy !
