  1. Now that I’m finally clean from painting back to the bridge ! Dropped the Mac ha and gone with homeseer on a NUC . Homeseer is somewhat buggy : but - thanks to the scripting anything can be achieved somehow !! Currently semi functional we have audio streamed from nas to bathroom . If music is playing and doorbell pushed then ... New screen is pushed to iPad showing camera view ( this is trickier than you think as a streaming camera at even 2fps cripples HomeSeer - so we constantly grab the stream via a .bat file and resize the image to something more manageable ) On pop up screen you can currently unlock the door or turn the door leds on /off. Music is then paused mp3 for ‘doorbell’ is played ( struggling to get speech working yet ) At this point music is meant to unpause - but issues there . Have a crude slider for bathroom lights which seems to work . So fundamental basics ( music , light control , complex doorbell ) working but not 100% You can tell I was a programmer and not an artist !
  2. In the Wagner ad the guys all smiley spreading blue paint all over a bleeding carpark. No spray , no nothing. Just mr. bloody happy! Presumably they have a stunt double who primes it, makes a mess; they then get rid of him and get "Smiley Wagnker " in...
  3. Just got home - need a shower I have white hair !
  4. Better photo now it’s drying . Bit round the window isn’t the best . Can I spray ‘areas’ ? Or will that show ? I.e have to do the whole ceiling
  5. Also . Paint sprayers use less paint ? Do they hell . This was sucking it up quicker than a nun at @Onoff ‘s bathroom opening ceremony.
  6. Yes ! But I want the ceilings done in the bathrooms and ensuite before I tile . The rest of the house can wait
  7. 40 minutes to mask 7 minutes to paint 2 hours clearing up ffs !
  8. Honestly ! The worst bit is where you prep the sprayer that moment where the tiny trickle into a monsoon . You’ve got maybe a 10th of a second to react. If you don’t ( as I didn’t ) it hits the side of the bucket and then you are coated . My right arm and gun completely white . Would of took a photo but was pretty pre occupied with swearing . No mist as it hits the surface? . In the videos the man smiles and not a drop touches him . BS !!!
  9. (expletive deleted) me ! Though ! I’m still tidying up ! I had a bucket of painty water with the filter in soaking . Forgot about it and tipped the lot straight down the man hole ????
  10. @Thorfun want to buy a sprayer ?? Jesus ! The mess !! Firstly the paint I choose was surprisingly thin so I added a bit of water as new plaster . Mixed mechanically for 10 mins . What came out of the sprayer was more water than paint . Anyway plaster got a water coat .... Added more paint and mixed .Proper coating now . Some observations though I blocked some of my ceiling holes with projecting bits to hold circle in place . Bad idea as it caused the spray to pattern as it hit them . Removed them . Edges seem to be an issue as paint splatters off walls and onto the ceiling . You can see the edges have a ‘dimple’ effect . Hope that dries out . i then ran out of paint before even getting to the ensuite . The main finish looks good . If anything it shows up plasterers imperfections !! But the mess ! I mean on me not the bloody machine !!! I’ll take advice on the edges . Might 2nd coat it when dry ( and have more paint ) Photos of fun Actually it might be the silver foil I used playing tricks with my eyes . Even though it’s painted out I think it’s still reflecting . Have to admit that was not enjoyable ! 5 hours of cleaning now !! Ffs
  11. A man that misses an opportunity is not a man. He is a pigeon. "Olde proverb from Brizzle"
  12. Yes that is excellent. But I was more leaning towards those wow factor type things - that don't need to cost the earth you know. For example ( off the top of my head ) some walk on glazing perhaps?
  13. Took me 5 years . You got there ! Have you thought about glazing ?
  14. Ah I see !
  15. I wish one day to have an electric car . There’s a multitude of different chargers , but as I don’t have the vehicle nor the charger I can’t select anything . Presumably it’s just a meaty cable off the consumer unit to the charger ? To future proof what’s the meatiest cable I could put in even if it’s overkill ? ??
  16. Tbh with previous painting ( roller and brush ) touching that up always looks crap . So I end up doing the whole wall anyway ; agree that re rolling a wall would be quicker than respraying it . But as you know - why make a job easy ! ?
  17. Then I shall be damned !
  18. I’m a big boy - I’ll risk a perfect texture that never needs touching up
  19. Erm , what’s the right answer here ? I assume just spray and forget ... ?
  20. I just have the boys toy version ?
  21. Yeah it’s new plaster so planned to do 2 watery coats first . As that dries then mix final coat ( probably with a touch of water to help it flow better )
  22. Yeah I was going to do that anyway . Bought 3 extra buckets .
  23. Well ! Glad I did a water test ! Initially you hold the gun over a bucket as you prime . Instructions say once the fluid comes out to stop and attach the nozzle . Needless to say I continued holding until the gentle stream turned into a Niagra falls under pressure ! . Just got a bit wet - if it had been paint then I would have painted the room I think in about 2 seconds in a rather uncontrolled manner !! Will run through the procedure once more . Surprised how wide the spray is ( against some ply as a test ) but can also see how even it is !!
  24. Will do . Also have an sds mixer attachment. Something else I’ve read is you spend more time mixing than you do painting and it’s worth it
  25. Quickly read it ...
