  1. See what I did there in the title 😁 Anyway ! They finally turned up . The big ones are big and heavy . Don’t fancy my chances mixing sand/cement to bed these . I know you can get pre mix or indeed glue for these - any recommendations? Secondly as you can see the only ‘roughly’ level bit are the bricks down the centre . Do I just bed on these then ‘fill’ on either side with cement to fill the gap between coping and stone facework ? . Or should I ‘somehow’ make a wider level ‘platform’ for the copings to sit on ??
  2. Yes ! We can then generate tidal energy from the submerged Welsh Atlantis ! . Tempted to email Boris with my suggestion ( solution ! ) because it’s a winner !
  3. I think there are simpler solutions. Wales. Yes wales. Remember the film "Escape from New York" ?. We section off Wales with a big wall ( Welsh hate the English anyway ) so I can't see any objections to that. We then stick loads of on shore wind turbines all over Wales. In England we build loads of nuclear power plants ( yes, yes ; I know the radioactive by product is a problem ). The radioactive waste we dump in wales. If this solution causes any Welsh people discomfort ( and I fully appreciate it might ) ; we do it along the Scottish boarder instead. SIMPLES!
  4. Who pays - is indeed the big question
.. unfortunately I don’t have the answer .
  5. Agree that the main issue is insulating current ( old ) properties . Without being heartless I was thinking when Ukraine rebuilds entire cities they could set an exemplary example of sustainable , low carbon , efficient housing

Perhaps we need to knock everything down
.
  6. Or in my case every 50mm 😂
  7. I’m not sure tbh So in a power outage ( only ever caused by me ) only the pw2 would kick in is not an issue for me ( I know it is for you ) . Regarding SE and that ‘feature’ best ask installer
  8. Erm , um ! I think it’s a new SE inverter for both ( I’m guessing of course ) . Yeah it’s tricky even with hindsight . I choose PW2 because that was the most publicised and reviewed choice I.e other brands were far more limited . I did regret not getting 3 phase initially - but now it doesn’t really matter . i *guess* if I was starting fresh today I’d go more PV straight away and have 3 SE batteries ( max I think on 1 phase ) . As it stands though I can achieve similar. 1 x PW , 1 x SE battery ( will add another later if it makes sense ) , 4kw pv upgraded to 7.2kw with optimisers .
  9. I do . But can’t add another pw as DNO won’t allow . So adding SolarEdge batteries with a SolarEdge inverter ; also extra pv all with SE optimisers .
  10. It’s the middle of the week so the answer is đŸ·
  11. Also installer takes responsibility for it all . Must admit I worry if I bought everything and then have my sparky install it and there’s an issue ( even later on ) . Take the easy route 😁
  12. I see. My additional SolarEdge battery is being zero rated ( no issue from the company) yet I have PV already.... Yeah -there's a lot of other things to think about I agree; it can be overwhelming .
  13. Why can’t you zero rate if battery is installed after pv ? . It’s a new build so vat exempt on supply and install
.
  14. Not enough pb screws ! Got it !
  15. Sorry , what’s wrong in the photo ?
  16. I know what he said . I saw it before it got deleted “ FFS - sort it out man . Kick some arse and make it happen . Look at @pocster he doesn’t pussy around “
  17. Ah ! Bum smells !!
  18. Isn’t that all part of your installers job though ??
  19. Nor me I’d just ring the DNO and ask . In theory it shouldn’t matter as you are removing something rather than adding . But you know it could come back and bite you

  20. I would *just in case * - but as your storage is off the pv inverter they won’t care

  21. Yeah I did wonder on Antigua that there might be a lack of B&Q, Porcellona , and tile show rooms. I am jealous I must admit. Every holiday is the Caribbean for me and I love it. Permanently wearing shorts ; as I do in the UK. đŸ€— Also no need for ( walk on ) glazing - is music to my ears!
  22. Holiday???. You're on a tropical paradise island! - where would you go!!!😎
  23. I did wonder about the heat - must be punishing on a self build. 70k for outsourced labour is pretty good. So all the finishing e.g. tiling, boarding, fitting out, bathrooms, kitchen etc. etc - you doing that?
  24. What do you reckon your Labour costs will be ? . Assume you aren’t doing any of the build ??
