  1. Parts won't be much if you fit something like this. I'm not saying this but it'll give you an idea: http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Electrical/d190/MK+Consumer+Units/sd3134/MK+Shower+Consumer+Unit+IP65/p80581 You need to consider the chosen shower's load, cable length and how it's routed to gauge the cable size required, isolation switch position etc. BUT this really is one where you don't want to be doing it yourself. Leccy + water + kids etc. One of the biggest loads in a house.
  2. Found that pc a bit cheaper here: http://www.viking-direct.co.uk/a/pb/Zoostorm-Desktop-PC-Evolve-16GB-RAM-On-board-integrated-Intel-HD-530-graphics-3TB-HDD-Windows-10-Home/id=2099701/ Have had stuff off Viking before. No issues. IMHO this pc is pretty good for the money. The psu if 250W should be easy to change as a DIY job if you want to run a bigger graphics card. As it stands the onboard card will run some high end games at low to medium res. At the end of the day you are in budget territory in terms of gaming pcs. It comes down to will your boy be happy with it which I suspect he will. I've upgraded graphics and psus with my lad more times than I can remember! Sadly there'll always be something "better" out there and guaranteed after you buy it you'll see a better deal! Add the Argos / Viking price to the graphics card price plus say £50 for a decent, quiet psu and look at what you could get elsewhere e.g Arbico if you don't want the hassle. You'll be around the £900 mark upgrading the Argos one.
  3. I had a crack at something like this on an old shed.....with CANS. Did the walls and floor: The floor: One of the STUPIDEST things I've ever done by far.
  4. Read more into that Argos pc and it apparently has a 250W psu (Questions & Reviews). I'm amazed if it really is that small? That graphics card you also put up needs a 450W min. FYI the mobo on the Argos one, it's an ASUS H110M-R: Chipset Intel H110 CPU Interface Socket 1151 RAM Technology Dual-channel DDR4 RAM Slots 2 x 288-pin RAM Speeds 2133Mhz Max. It provides improved performance by utilizing serial point-to-point links, allowing increased bandwidth and stability. It natively supports up to four USB 3.0 ports for up to ten times faster transfer than USB 2.0. Moreover, Intel® H110 Express chipset also supports iGPU functions, letting users enjoy the latest Intel integrated graphics performance.DDR4 Support With DDR4, you'll accelerate memory frequencies up to an incredible to 2133MHz! And ASUS works with almost every DDR4 memory vendor, so you're assured the best compatibility. I'd phone say Arbico and simply say you've been recommended to the, was thinking of the Argos one can they do anything similar. Nothing lost. Btw they were recommended to me. But come back and tell us before you part with cash!
  5. According to my resident nerd that card is "pretty good" and there's "two above it" the 1070 & 1080. Other monosyllabic suggestions were "small SSD", "big HDD".
  6. She was walking two corgis with Prince Philip... My youngest said "...it's like three normal wasps stuck together!"
  7. We had a queen wasp in my lad's bedroom yesterday. The missus caught it and stuck it outside. No doubt it'll find a hole in the building fabric (there are many) in which to spawn next year's crop.
  8. So beer fridge below the loo roll holder? Getting silly now, this!
  9. How about 9mm Buffalo board and she can just live with the pseudo industrial finish? Or 6mm ali chequer plate?
  10. Shrődinger's Shat.....without the indicator, until you actually run out there may or may not be a fresh roll... Liking the bike wheel idea.
  11. YOU do like to complicate things! Seriously though I was thinking on these lines (7 segment LED etc) but I think the easiest is just a subtle LED that comes on when you've one or two in the magazine. Could be a simple whisker switch held off by the 3rd roll in the mag. When that drops, leaving two, the LED comes on.
  12. Our DG windows never get steamed up.....could be that there's that many gales blowing in from elsewhere I suppose my question should have been would you feel a difference standing next to a DG window in a (reasonably) well insulated wall. I guess you would? A thermal imaging camera is the way to go I imagine to be sure.
  13. Seems the place to pose this question but exactly how "good" are generic DG windows? I'm thinking not very. The reason I ask is that in draught proofing around my bathroom window (covered in great detail elsewhere ) now it's done there's no draught per se but the air is colder near the window. All four sides have the insulated plaster board sealed against the UPVC frame.
  14. Now then... With hindsight I might have done this different but I basically battened the room so it was square. The walls were concave, convex, you name it. Below is the typical detail. Battens sitting on periodic packs that vary from 5mm upward. Plastic packs in some cases, timber in others or a combination. I've tried to gun foam behind the battens wherever. The wall where the window is, is so out that with the 50mm Celotex pushed back to the wall the distance to the face of the batten varies - I've shown clouded the 12, 20, 20, 25mm dimns and it gets worse the further you go along the wall. Is it worth just pushing in tight EPS off cuts as shown by the one marked with the "?" Also should I tape over the battens before I put the VCL on? Cheers
  15. Yep! She was pretty much bang on with her lines:
  16. How to mark out plaster board for the window reveal: Take one child: Give it a pencil and a torch:
  17. A lot of the kids (juniors) used to like kicking a football before school. That was banned as it "hyped them up" before they went into register. It was all some of them looked forward to. There's a few apple tree there.....so they then started playing footy with the windfalls. That got banned as well. Haloween.....banned. 4/19 passed the 11+.
  18. I remember that at school! It had germicide impregnated in it I think. No wonder none of us ever got ill making ship's funnels etc from the old bog rolls. They've banned toilet rolls for craft use at my youngest's school.
  19. An Andrex PUPPY dispenser! Even I'm not stupid enough to attempt that.....
  20. Quite seriously THAT is the design's Achille's Heel. Different sizes will likely not work in some way. Drawing this up based on 120dia x 105lg. Still it's something to do!
  21. Plasterboard either side of the 145mm timber stud. The (red) "cam" is held against the roll by opposing / attracting (tba) magnets (?) instead of a spring I'm thinking. Pull the cam towards you and the roll drops down. Maybe extend the cam at the top to abut the roll "in waiting" above and stop it interfering with the action initially. Let go of the cam and the roll above drops into place. Early days but it's something to go on.....
  22. I showed the roll dispenser idea to my boy..... "Oh Christ we'll never get a bath!"
  23. Thanking her lucky stars it wasn't a beer festival!
