Sorry, that's what I meant. Thinking to invest in a decent big heat store. Options for heat sources etc.

Got to sort that fence out on the right too...not mine but I'm going to see if they mind me putting in concrete posts and criss cross trellis to match mine.
-
Think I'm sorted thanks.

It's people keep turning up bearing gifts! 😉

Copper would be maybe no good if you meant soldering to make watertight? Temperatures can get too high. More of an issue on the pipe joints I guess if a pressurised system where they can soften and burst.

Stop faffing and get some brick acid. Hydrochloric is what you want. I just cleaned the bottom few courses of my pillar with the flints in. (Just wanted to see what it'd look like). The label is worn off of my 5L container but I did one wash with it dilute 1:1. Nasty stuff, I wore a rain jacket, rubber gloves and a full face Bionic visor. Use a scrubbing brush and dip in the dilute acid. Scrub from left to right. Hose off: Going to give a few days for the mortar to go off then acid wash from the top down. Should clean the brickwork and bring the black of the flints out.

Made a seed tray today from scrap that should take the 50 little pots for my runners. Stainless screws / panel pins and white Gorilla Glue. Routed a couple of hand holds. 1 coat of yacht varnish so far. -
Holy thread resurrection! A big thanks to @Marvinwho visited me yesterday, kindly bringing replacement evacuated tubes to replace my damaged ones. Top man. Had a nice chat too. The plan is then x3 12 tube panels. I've also just scored this tank, controller and pump combo. Bought off Gumtree (for £50) but in Edinburgh! Someone's gone and gotten and is holding it for me. Got a mate visiting rellies up there in July who can bring it back down South. Just hope it works with these panels! Next step is some scaffold up and strip off some tiles. I'm going to renew the felt under where the panels are going. Then stainless steel brackets and some Unistrut to affix the panels to. I need to find a couple of these roof pipe entries cheap or make something similar:

That's a sine of how clever he is...

Got a ruddy birds nest in the other pillar! Means I'll have to wait until they've hatched / fledged to do the flints there.

Soundbloc pb on the walls for a start. It's magic. 'kin heavy but magic! 😂

You could... Lay your tools out flat on a thick board. Position where you think you'll want them. Use normal, countersunk wood screws to support the tools when the board is hung on the wall. Draw around each tool with a thick marker. Then paint the board but go around the tool outline. Instant, at a glance "that tool is missing".

The bender saw some service then. Did those handwheels work?

Toilet seat - bad design or am I missing something!

3D print a packer to fit under the silver bit if all else fails and the hinge is the correct way up. -
Bringing it down to your level as per usual

I let SWMBO lay the flints out in patterns she chose. Threw the mortar into the recess off the end of the trowel, pushed them in, more mortar. Ratchet strapped a bit of scaffold against it and walked away. Came back the next day, another small mix to point etc. Rubbed it in with a gloved hand, brush etc. Bottom panel is going ok I think. Top mortar spacing is too wide but i) hopefully the eye will be drawn away by the coach lantern and intercom, ii) I can't be arsed with it any more.

That grey stuff underneath everything, is that what they call "floor"?

This was tidy for me: My trouble is I need to differentiate between working space and the "that'll come in handy one day" tat I can't say no to.

Amateurs the lot of you! Wait till I get home 😂

Lidl have these in: You get 3 boards the size I'm holding, in a pack along with clips for I think a fiver. Picture on the packet shows 3 together.

Not at all if there's a chance the thing on the roof can still stay in place if the nut falls off. Better a nut drops from height than a bfo bolt.

Been there done that, well on a similar vein. Instructed to change all the fixings because of believed hydrogen embrittlement. Without a crane we had to cut the old ones (pointing down) out. New ones were fitted pointing up. Couldn't use a grinder because of the roof finish so had to use a sabre saw. Got started and the manufacturer decided we didn't have to change the bolts in fact.

The frame is up where it's staying (wind dependent, I will guy rope it). Not quite as square as I'd like looking end on but the ridge is pretty level. Might revisit the squareness. Covered the trench in some Correx sheets to keep everything warm and moist. Figured it should speed up the layers of grass cuttings etc in there rotting a bit quicker. -
Look at a set of spanners, they're all different lengths. I believe this comes from years back. The idea being the average man, putting the average force "F" on that particular spanner, puts the correct 'ish torque on that particular sized nut. Length of spanner "D" being the variable. As said above Torque = Force X Distance.
