  1. But it contains the same level of chlorine so I don’t see how hot water in the same cct can contaminate the cold, anyone else?
  2. Is that the case?, in what way could hot water be contaminated? It’s not like the heating loop (with inhibitor) would be involved 🤷‍♂️
  3. At least mine works for his living…….
  4. I would like to bet that the amount of dog turds in the sea is a very small proportion of those human ones the water companies are allowed to “distribute “ (Plus the fact that most dog owners, like myself, clean up after their pets 🤔)
  5. I don’t see how a couple of cold showers on the beach for surfers is going to affect the water usage over a whole county??? They waste far more than that in leaks in their network!
  6. But I do pay Octopus by DD so get the discount but only pay for what I use every month. I know winter will be harder (but I have lots of logs for my wood stove!)
  7. I only pay fir my usage, Octopus send me an Email asking fir a reading, I supply and the bill me fir the usage, my neighbour (on benefits because he is disabled) is way in credit at the end of the winter when it should be at its lowest are still demanding a large increase in DD, I told him to cancel his DD till he has no more credit!
  8. Instal a coin operated shower like in some campsites (then run away). I have never run out of hot water even with visiting guests but I do still have a Stieble Eltron 10kW in the loft as a backup and the wiring ready fir it’s installation if required.
  9. I have priced EV conversion and it’s astronomical, besides it would not sound right (I love the six cylinder triumph engine). A 4Kw set fit perfectly on my garage roof, not the ideal angle for winter but hey!. A timer on the ASHP from 11 am to 3pm 👍 @Scots Buildyours is using way too much, especially for one person 🤷‍♂️
  10. I had a guy like this back in Bristol, young chap but trained old school.
  11. That’s good to hear ,!,! If I do manage to get PV installed I could reduce this a fair bit I guess.
  12. This thread made me look at my bill / usage which I have not done before. 5kW ASHP, two people, 48’ DHW, (no immersion) ,no heating (summer) just under 6kwh per day this month.
  13. That will teach him 🤣, now he has got to locate those timbers to fix too.
  14. , and the bars must be 99mm apart. Sorry mate I didn’t write the regs 😇
  15. Then why is it lumpy? I presumed it was rough rendered stone 🤷‍♂️.
  16. “For exterior balconies, roofs or terraced areas the required height is 1.1 meters (1100mm)from where you can stand on to the top of the handrail.”
  17. I would do it this way, 6 x 2 around the edges but the short ones could be 4 x 2 on joist hangers @ 600 mm max
  18. But if the primary pressure did not drop then there is no leak between the two? 🤔
  19. 1400m. Depth 👍, what length?
  20. Yup, get those drawings done and we can advise 👍
  21. I disagree, no bricks and blocks for gable walls, timber quantity roughly the same, tiles/slates roughly the same . The other reason we went for a hip roof was noise, gable roofs produce more noise in windy situations. Also less area to loose heat.
  22. Pininfarina also design the Austin a40 (the later one) 🤯, it’s 1972, 1798cc
  23. It’s always difficult repairing old rotten timbers as they usually sag over the years so new straight stuff sticks out like a sore thumb. If it was repaired to the spec of a professional body there should be some guarantee that goes with it.
  24. It’s red 🤔, ah yes all welded up, sprayed and ready for the road 👍
