  1. Stream at the bottom of the garden. Its not existing, we are thinking of putting the gutter drainage as on the drawings but using 6" slotted or land drainange instead of the 4" on the drawings and then back filling with gravel to create a frenchdrain to help get any water away from the house. French drain only around the house, the other 250m to the stream which is all downhill would just be normal 6" pipe. There would be a silt trap both sides of house.
  2. Anybody no if it’s ok with building control to have your gutters connected into 6” land drainage pipe that is at the bottom of the french drain surrounding our house? Also would I need an inspection chamber at every change of direction?
  3. For a bungalow 160m2 that’s sitting at 17 degrees throughout with little heat in the screed as the heatings not been on for a few days how long would you expect the ufh to be on for to reach 21 degrees throughout?
  4. Surely each press of your hand primer will just be blowing bubbles through your traps? Council just wanted to see an air test on our underground waste pipes before they where buried nothing after that
  5. I think that might of been what was happening, I’ve swapped the input and output wires as suggested by a few people and the meter is going up much quicker so thinking it was just wired back to front.
  6. That is how it is wired up. two left terminals are marked input and they are from solar invertor and the two on the right are marked output and they go into the consumer unit.
  7. This is the meter and its wired the input from the solar and output is into meter. So if its reading low on the meter it just means we are using most of what we are producing? Thought that as power needed to 'pass through the meter' to get to the consumer unit so it could be used it would all register on the meter
  8. Our install has been operational for about a month now but im not understanding why the generation meter is reading a total of .9kwh and the invertor is saying we have generated a total of 280 kw. Should the 2 not be the same?
  9. 1 cement 2 sand 4 aggregate
  10. had to remove some bits of tiles so I could get a spanner onto the feeds to check that they where 100% the correct way round and had water, could get the cartridges out without removing tiles. Should still be covered by the fascia plate when put back together. Dont think I can on this shower, Its a roper rhodes Event dual shower. Roper rhodes are sending out a new cartridge which they think will sort it, free of charge which is good as no reciept
  11. No, tiles removed an cracked the hot n cold pipes an both have water so guessing its a dud cartridge, waiting on roper rhodes support getting back to me
  12. Cartridge isnt adjustable, read the instructions an there only advice is blocked pipe or plumbed wrong. Definately plumbed correctly and there was water at body when installed.. Guess im pulling some of my shiny new tiles of the wall
  13. New Roper rhodes event shower only puts out hot water as in full heat 42 degrees ish regardless of where the temp setting is put. Hot an cold are plumbed the correct way and bled. Any suggestions before we start removing tiles to get the cartridge out?
  14. We’ve built in a residential street but told that as the cables are under ground it would involve a survey, if we had a pole within a certain meter age it would be free
  15. no landline yet, that’s what openreach want £330 to do a survey for before they quote to put in a line. we are using a 4g router in the caravan we are living in just now and will probably just end up using this in the house as well but if there was a grant available to put in a landline we would go for that.
  16. Has anybody used this scheme to help with there broadband connections? We’ve been quoted a scary £330 by open reach just to do a survey after which they will give us a price to get a line to us. The r100 voucher scheme says it will provide help to get broadband to places there’s none but I can’t understand from there website how to go about applying.
  17. If your burying it under screed i'd personally use good quality fittings and pipe like Osma or Marley rather than cheap screwfix Flowplast stuff.
  18. The truss company knew it was getting panels from the drawings so presumably it was taken into account and they did there own calcs an certified them.
  19. Building control are asking for a Solar commissioning certificate for our new build, if you've self installed them how have you went about getting one of these? Sure I was told in the past that I only needed one if I was on a tarriff where I was being paid for energy produced? Sparky has signed of on all the AC stuff already.
  20. Been charged Vat on the above and this is the response when queried: "I have had this one many times before. Checked with HMRC and they instructed me to charge VAT on all services and costs and then if it is reclaimable at the client end then this is how it ends up." Right or Wrong or is there no Right or Wrong?
  21. Left it to the tiler to do and he filled it with a foam then cut it flush before tanking it.
  22. What would you use to fill the gap between floor and plasterboard before tanking the tray? Just some expanding foam?
