  1. wood saw would last about 5 min, not sure about strength maybe someone else can help with that. You can buy a block saw http://www.screwfix.com/p/stanley-fatmax-cellular-concrete-panel-saw-1-4tpi-25-650mm/96879
  2. Use a saw I know i shouldn't have but i had an old sliding chop saw. stuck an old tct blade in and cut all mine. Not see easy if more than 4 inch thick
  3. Timber Frame arrives tomorrow At least the big bits. The first timber was delivered this morning. It rained over night and there are no swimming pools on the slab only damp areas so it looks level
  4. You could mention to him that you are going to speak with your insurance company about who would be liable for any damage caused as a consequence of his actions as you are worried your insurance might not cover it. Tell him that he could find himself liable for any damage caused( not sure about the legal stuff but it sounds about right) If you did go to SEPA you then say it was the insurance company.
  5. two in each room under the floor and fixed in position and you can cap them with stop ends or something if you don't use them. The picture is a 15mm hep fittting Better than pipes coming through floor or left loose and cutting hole later
  6. I am fitting 22mm insulated pipes to the first floor terminating near to the heat pump. If we get too much overheating then i will fit fan coil rads capable of using the air source heat pump in reverse to cool upstairs. Only thing i need to look at is if you need to bypass the buffer when cooling? trying to find 22mm versions of below to tidy up pipework at floor level
  7. I think Earth save have a retrofit unit http://www.earthsaveproducts.com/product/ecocent-energy/
  8. Can you claim the VAT on a matrix? is it built in? Part R building regs might be an argument for it.
  9. The main thing i need on each TV is the CCTV feed. I could use a modulator and use analogue but as the cctv box has a hdmi 1080p out it made me think a matrix was the way forward. The cctv is IP based and can display true 1080p via HDMI, its just the cameras that are connected via IP Tv is currently a humax freeview play recorder as i lost sky when house was demolished. Probably will not go back to sky. Wife does not like lots of boxes under the TV
  10. Its covered in plastic and will be floated sometime early tomorrow morning
  11. @AliG i will have 4 inputs that are hdmi Blu ray cctv Sky/freeview Media box between 4 and 6 tv points We will have 1G fibre at property by the time we finish and the house will be wired in cat6 ftp minimum As we want a clean look in living room all the 4 inputs will be either in a media cupboard( back of cloak room) and remote IR to control them
  12. Has anyone fitted a networked HDMI matrix Looked at a couple Blustream and CYP. Both cost circ £2k for the new HDCP2.2 versions (4k at 60hz) Not really up on what is needed but will mean that all the boxes can be hidden away somewhere. Have not looked at cheaper imported versions yet (Chinese copies) help and recommendations welcome
  13. House, about 300m sq. I went with more loops at 150mm so i can run the floor at a lower temperature as a single zone.
  14. @PeterWNot got it yet. Same place does a Watts s/steel manifold for good price. Need to source a low temp blender/mixer mentioned in another thread
  15. Private water supply. Despite this Thames Water still think we use theirs. The nearest main is a mile away.
  16. 99 % ready for building control. All the underfloor pipe is laid and not a single kink. Used this pipe and was well impressed as were the boys from MBC easy to bend and well marked to gauge how much is left http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Underfloor-heating-pipe-PEX-AL-PEX-pipe-16mm-x-2mm-300m-rolls-WRAS-approved-/322223143087?hash=item4b05fef8af:g:pJ4AAOSwA3dYRome Just need to cap off a few pipes, mark the zones on each underfloor heating pipe and do final checks tomorrow.
  17. @TerryE and @PeterW Will do as well as marking and photographing the zones for underfloor heating. The stubs should just be under FFL but can only do that with one as other is holding up ducts @Barney12 the pipes are in the internal walls that are made thicker so that the SVP can be insulated for sound. Will not be insulating the whole wall. Keep the suggestions coming i only have till Monday Off out to help with underfloor heating pipes now( its a nice sunny day)
  18. @TerryE Thanks for the advice. Went round everything yesterday there are two extra stacks you cannot see as they had no uprights fitted when i took photo. I have 6 x 63mm ducts coming in for other things like garage, stables, and workshop supplies, water and gas (LPG) is also in as well as telecom. Will run around with tape measure on Sunday although i have already checked the soil stacks twice have fitted low level sockets in the concrete on the other two stacks so i can fit low level fittings if needed This is my list of things in the slab 1. hockey stick for mains into cavity. 2. water from bore hole to plant room 3. gas from LPG bottles to kitchen 4. grey telecom to hall 5. two svp in the walls for first floor( position checked) 6. downstairs toilet svp 7. plant room svp 8. kitchen island svp 9. kitchen island hot and cold supply(insulated) 10. kitchen Island power and one spare 25mm duct to island(you never know) 11. two 63mm to garage 12 two 63mm to workshop 13 two 63mm to stables. Anything else that anyone can recommend before the pour on Monday afternoon would be appreciated
  19. All the insulation is down. re-bar tomorrow and the concrete Monday
