Just checked no it doesn’t. So 18.4p/kWh including VAT. 19.40p/kWh standing charge and VAT. Which isn’t bad since I’ve used 9000kWh
-
6/12/23 to 6/12/24 I have averaged 17.56p/kWh not including standing charge, to be honest I’ve not be bothered when we use it so you could get that number down if you want to be careful. I’ve got a 3rd party app called octopus watch, works all my history out and just told me octopus cosy will be cheaper than agile based on my hourly consumption.
-
I have no idea why it’s that high. Most expensive slot today was 48p/kWh which is a tad higher than normal. I keep having days where I’m paying more than 23p/kWh average, so it’s time to have a look around.
-
I might have to look. I’m on octopus agile and tomorrow it’s hitting 91p/kWh at its most expensive slot! Most of the day is around 40p/kWh

I took my mixer valve off my Ufh on Friday, on Saturday I had 26c floor temperature on 32c flow temperature. I had engineered wood flooring glued down, manufacturer recommended temperature limit is 27c. I’ve trimmed my flow temperature and I’m gonna fit a sensor to knock the Ufh off when it hits 26c. Think you might struggle with 45c flow temperature unless you are using suspended spreader plate system
-
They just released 5kw and 7kw versions but at £7000… Think it’s a very good idea.
-
Shame I have a 6kw heat loss.
-
I’m guessing you are not messing about with permitted planning with this?

First winter with fan coils in my bedroom they are fantastic. I can get upstairs to 23c with the same flow temperature as my Ufh heating downstairs. Then summer comes I can keep my bedrooms nice and cool. The negative is the price of fan coil units, mine was supposed to be £900 a unit, I got a steal of eBay. I do have Ufh in my bathroom which does well but also have a electric radiator come on twice a day for towels

What does this +5 do to water law, Samsung ashp

Have you got a low tariff function on your heat pump? I’ve got one on mine (grant aerona3) i use between 12-3pm normally cheapest time on octopus agile to boost the flow temperatures +3c to avoid the expensive 4-7 period for me. -
could i use my existing UDHWC with proposed heat pump?

Well I don’t have any issues charging with 10kw ashp. 10c to 48c within a hour, just thinking about the COP. Normally starts at 3000w the drops to 2400w until it’s up to temperatures. I probably won’t recover the cost of a bigger coil cylinder for ten years? -

Would it financially worth changing for me? I’m planning on moving it next year to free some space up in the garage. -

Here is the label off unvented cylinder Coil rating @ 15l/min/80°C: 19.4kW -
You mention the heating symbol disappearing after 5 mins on the main grant control with the pump symbol and compressor symbol flashing? If this is the case, I would suggest you’ve got a fault with with your thermostat.

I’m using my old unvented 180l cylinder megaflow on my 10kw grant aerona3 heat pump. I can warm it up from cold to 48c in 45-50 mins, my wife had a 10 min shower last night about 15-20 mins after she got out I checked the store temperature was fully charged again. I do believe it has a better coil than a standard cylinder. Like said above I would turn your pellet boiler down to 55c flow temperature and to a timed test. I’m not sure if your will get short cycle on a dwh run with your desired heat pump -
Octopus, did i imagine this?

With octopus agile you can use the automation app IFTTT. I was using this system last year, it would find the cheap periods with octopus agile and tell my hestmiser stats to turn up heating up. Once I knew the rough average cheap times I told my heat pump (grant aerona3) to go into low tariff mode and boost my flow temperatures for that period resulting into a slightly hotter house for the 4-7pm expensive period. My heat pump never really came back on till the 10pm. -

No battery here. I need a new roof at some point it’s 90 years old and the rosemary tiles are starting to break up, so will look at solar and possibly an outdoor battery to save space then. We do use a lot of electricity around 20-25kWh a day 2 young kids washing machine is always on. -

Octopus agile for me, average 17p/kWh for the last full year. I could probably get it cheaper if I cut down my energy usage in the expensive period 5-7pm but I’m not bothered my energy bill is around 30% cheaper than my gas neighbours. -
Just check your radiators are sized correctly, 40c flow temperature on Ufh might exceed 27c floor temperature limit on most floor coverings. So if you want 1 circuit design you will need to take this in consideration.

Nice and tidy! Probably better most install I’ve seen working on jobs 😂
-
Nice bit of kit can use third party controller to control temperature and fan speed but for £900 a pop they seem pricey! I managed to get 4 for £240 all in bargin of the year for me.

I’ve had the cooling running all day at flow temperature 15c and my 3 myson Ivector’s have kept the bedrooms at 21c all day. It’s hit 30c and still is 27c outside temperature. No condensation on the pipe work inside humidity 48, downstairs has just hit 24.5c so I’m happy at the moment that I can get away with not insulating my pipe work.

ASHP water leaving temperature control

Grant aerona3 10kw 3 port buffer 3 zones, 2 Ufh and 1 rad’s, main pump on sniffer mode. Sure it’s running 5c hysteresis but having messed with that setting for awhile. Normal cycle time in the mild months with 1 zone calling for heat on for 10 mins then off 20 mins ish. All zone calling for heat then on for 45 mins to hour. Do I have noise reduction mode on 80% as my heat loss is around 5.8-6kw at -2 and just to keep the hot water quiet as the heat pump points at my neighbour patio and he’s retired out there all day.
