PeterW
Ecover products are supposed to be tank safe - check them carefully in the shop though as I think one of them is only use sparingly.
ProDave
We use the Ecover range of products

This stuff is a bit cheaper - but still expensive compared to beach. We're hoping to use it, and Ecover as @PeterW suggests.
newhome
The Method products are good but maybe a bit more expensive than Ecover https://methodproducts.co.uk/products/toilet-cleaner/
Simplysimon
someone did a test with bleach versus water and there was very little difference after the flush, give it a good clean and it'll be fine, save the money.

There are some pretty nasty acids in cola - this is what is in lime scale remover and most of the cheap toilet descalers.

Oh, glad I don’t drink it then ?, does it do a treatment plant any harm?
Jeremy Harris
The main active ingredient is phosphoric acid. It's very unlikely to do any harm to the treatment plant, mainly as the concentration would be pretty low. Phosphoric acid is also the stuff used to convert ferric oxide into ferric phosphate, the black anti-corrosion coating seen on things like guns.
