nod Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 We’ve looked for Somthing other than bleach to put down the loos Can anyone recommend Somthing that won’t kill the bacteria in our treatment plant
PeterW Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 Ecover products are supposed to be tank safe - check them carefully in the shop though as I think one of them is only use sparingly. 1

newhome Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 The Method products are good but maybe a bit more expensive than Ecover https://methodproducts.co.uk/products/toilet-cleaner/ 1
Simplysimon Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 someone did a test with bleach versus water and there was very little difference after the flush, give it a good clean and it'll be fine, save the money.

Jeremy Harris Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 The main active ingredient is phosphoric acid. It's very unlikely to do any harm to the treatment plant, mainly as the concentration would be pretty low. Phosphoric acid is also the stuff used to convert ferric oxide into ferric phosphate, the black anti-corrosion coating seen on things like guns.
