Heating system with UFH etc may just be one of those things in hindsight. But you learn from your experiences. I hope they come back and finish the job. Have to agree with this. I know I paid a premium for our UFH etc. and roofing but felt peace of mind was worth the extra,

It was connecting it all up and commissioning that was where the specialist knowledge was needed. Weirdly though our roofer was far too cheap but was ace. He quoted much less than the 2 other quotes (like half!), seemed a bit rough and ready, but he was recommended so we went with him. He was one of the best trades we had in the end. Finished the job on time and charged exactly what he quoted. We actually paid him a bit more for a job well done. Helped out the budget position enormously. Had him back for the garage and extension. lizzie
I paid a ‘ premium’ for UFH install and MVHR....same installer - recommended by supplier - he was not the cheapest and has done a good job but for various reasons bits were left undone at commissioning and I have some issues with MVHR. Getting him back is the problem he keeps saying he is going to come but never turns up. The plumbers used were rubbish, again they were not the cheapest but didnt realise how rubbish until we were in. As someone said earlier price is not always an indicator. Given your situation they must have understood you were 'keen' to move in? Day rate! They tod mr 3 or 4 days. 5 max. Day 5 was the last day they worked. Which us why I suspect they are not coming back Half a day would see it done I think for the heating system and perhaps another half for the plumbing bits but I can get that done by my handyman. He can't touch the gas side of it though
Hecateh
As expected they did not turn up yesterday and are ignoring texts and not answering calls. SO regardless of how hard it is going to be and how much I have to pay I have no choice but to find someone else.
