Here's an excerpt from the email that came with a quote I received in August 2025, if that's any help:

 

"Pleased to provide a quotation for the airtightness works in your project - to view in full, please click the Quotation link above. For the supply and installation of the AeroBarrier system in your 190m2 project in [my postcode], your installation would be £2,538.40 (ex VAT but zero rated on new builds). This price is inclusive of travel, labour and materials and we do not charge a premium or any added fees for you end airtightness target (even to high performance levels)."

No, not really, .5 is more than good enough for me, originally I said 1.5 and I'd be very happy, just a bit pee'd off at the windows because it's so obvious.  My fault for being soft as shite and not inspecting 100%.

I guess you didn't tape the windows & doors yourself then.

 

The only place i can think of that might have let down my score was the fact that the floor screed did not flow as hard to the edges as i imagined it would and the sole plate being a little suspect. I can imagine that once pressurised, air was getting down past the edges of the screed and out through the sole plate gaps.

Either way its costing me no more to heat than i was paying for my old 3 bed semi at less that half the size.

When I was designing my last house I used the PHPP, and I ran some iterations to determine the sensitivity of infiltration on the space heating requirements. There are the results for my particular design. This was back in 2009 using the 2007 version.

Yeah I’d done the taping myself, but that is not an issue, it’s the epdm seal in the opening that’s either shrunk or was cut too short when installed, it’s just something I’ve noticed as AB has left a nice witness mark, how much it adds up to over say 14 openings I don’t know, probably not a great deal but now I see it, makes some sense to try and fix it

Plus the AB team look for 'major faux pas' before testing. An open chimney would have not passed grade, I am sure.

The chimney was taped. To be fair the inglenook brickwork, while very good was a potential candidate. But if it were at fault i would see the tiny wispy white traces of the goop. There is none of that on any of the inglenook.
