Hi everyone!

 

My wife Helen and I are embarking on a self build off grid renovation project in Dumfries and Galloway.

Any useful tips and advice always welcome!

What a fantastic and existing project, we’re in D&G and have just achieved BC sign off on our new build this month.

Happy to share what knowledge we have and local contacts if needed.

Is it a knock down and start again or do you need to reuse?

I might suggest you need a bit of airtightness tape but other than that it looks ready to me

No, we are keeping as much as we can with a new build extension to the main house(one in the distance). Middle building will be stores/workshop/garage and the stand alone barn to be restored.

Never thought of doing an invisible roof before.. Looks great!

Welcome to BH. D & G is a great place to live.

 

You have a journey ahead, main thing is to enjoy it. 

 

You'll get plenty help and suggestion here and BH is a fantastic resource.
