Well since @Pocster has been brave enough to show me (us all)  his : I feel brave enough to return the favour

 

I installed a water butt - ostensibly for the wife, but actually for the Brownie Points.

And its hacking it down this morning.

 

She came in from outside giving me one of this wifely looks, and merely gestured at the water butt

Yes, well it would have done fine, until a mate comes round,  looks at the 'repair' and asks ....

"Whassat ? " and pulls the CT1 plug out with his finger nail.

So he repaired my repair with his repair . Roofing screw + CT 1

At least the CT1 is the same colour as the water butt.

Right ! Been waiting for this !

First Lightwell - tanked , no leak . But I know waters still coming in . So today it finally pushed through to the 2nd deliberately untanked - and leaks .

Sure I’ve got zero options but to tank this one and then the water is going wherever !!! . What worries me is it tracks then to the skylights in the kitchen . Or do I think like an optimist and think as it can’t get through the 1st and then can’t get through the 2nd it just runs off the edge of the slab …. 🫤

Hmmmm . What about I just tank along the blue sides ? .  Forcing it forwards ? . Then some kind of gully taking it to the wall and lip into the wall waterproof membrane .

Good plan ? Shite plan ?

I prefer to control the water than seal its routes off and hope . Don’t want to post “ leaks moved to the kitchen ! “ 🫤🫤🫤

2am plan occurred to me .

Tank around the edge of the opening to prevent tracking . Solvent weld pipe cut in half length ways to form a gully / apron . All round the edge ditra tiling mat then round the inside of the opening sitting in the gully . Pipe outlet from that into the wall membrane.

What could go wrong !

Oh bloody Hell, @Pocster . I feel genuinely sorry for you.

 

There's something insistent about a leak isn't there. Every damn forecast is watched for -will-that-rain-make-my-leak-worse. Reeeely annoying.

Your idea appears to me to mean : - I could create a sump - 

But I know how it feels - if you can't see the leak, there's no leak......

lol . Yeah it’s coming in from outside the plot - impossible to pinpoint . I’m going to do my channel plan . This is the 1st leak in months - though there has been plenty of rain k er that time . It’s a management issue not a fix issue as tried that .
