CalvinHobbes Posted Thursday at 10:31 Posted Thursday at 10:31 Hi there, We have an island and the dishwasher can't be pushed back enough because of the drain pipe. We need it to go back 7cm. We have 4.5cm clearance above so chat gpt (yes seriously) suggested I could raise it and put in a flexible fitting at the drain with a loop. Just trying not to dig up floor. Whatcha think?
Conor Posted Thursday at 10:34 Posted Thursday at 10:34 Get digging, I'm afraid. We had the same issue with a electrical conduit. At least you spotted this before flooring! Another reason to install kitchen before flooring. 2
CalvinHobbes Posted Saturday at 08:31 Author Posted Saturday at 08:31 How much should it cost to move the pipe back from enough? Weighing up options. This is what's underneath and frankly how risky is it?
cjsparkey Posted Saturday at 08:41 Posted Saturday at 08:41 How many units make up the island? Could you swap the dishwasher along?
Big Jimbo Posted Saturday at 09:01 Posted Saturday at 09:01 Nice curve on the wall. Moving the dishwasher is defo the easy option. What size is that pi$$ed pipe sticking out of the floor ? and how far does it travel till it goes into a 110mm pipe?

All you really need to do is cut out the screed just around the pipe, cut the pipe down to just below the floor level, stick on a 45⁰ bend, 70mm or pipe, another bend, and that should get you clear of the dishwasher. It's an hour's work. The dishwasher will be sitting on your tiled floor, so will be about 20mm higher than it is.
Mr Punter Posted Saturday at 13:16 Posted Saturday at 13:16 Swap the dishwasher and the drawer unit. 1
Russell griffiths Posted Saturday at 17:22 Posted Saturday at 17:22 Where is the trap situated to stop the smells coming up that pipe. if you are thinking of fitting a waterless trap behind that appliance then you need that to look at the diameter of it. I can see a way out of your problem, but I do agree with everyone, it’s a bit farmed up and the pipe should come up in the cupboard next to the appliance. will the back panel on this island be removable. I think you need to answer the bit about the trap first and the possibility of moving the appliance first before we start looking for a method of hacking that pipe into a better position. 2
Nickfromwales Posted Sunday at 14:18 Posted Sunday at 14:18 Needs an appliance trap / washing machine upstand for the waste outlet.
