Good idea or just plain stoopid?

I like the idea, SWMBO is persuaded.

Am I missing something apart from dropping my mug of tea with the predicted outcome?

I did my porch in quarry tiles and they looked fab and bomb proof

Frankly any tile will do the same.

Other option is resin.  Thoughts?

Depends on what “look” you are after, I did “cottage” and quarry tile was perfect, however inside a plant room should be “fit for purpose” not “design statement”. 🤷‍♂️

Agree with that. So, either would do?

I used a 20mm screed to bring the room up to the height of the other rooms and painted it with garage floor paint.
the time all the cylinders are in there and water softener and all the other junk, there’s hardly any floor visable.

Our plant room is still bare screed nearly three years in. Can't see it changing.

Our is caberboard with carpet off cuts. If you have any plumbing in there, anything not damaged by some water being split is fine.

If your plant room is off the utility, just do it in the same as the utility

It's a plant room

Right, resin is a no-goer according to the Epodex website. Minimum temp for use - 150. Recommended temp 200. As the floor standing stuff is due for install next month, those temperatures are not going to happen

Quarry tiles it is 🙂

I think I’m going to be using an epoxy paint. Either a one part like crown epimac or maybe a two part like watco plant room coating. We’ve been using the resbuild SF with texturising additive for some industrial applications with plant usage that seem to hold up. Much cheaper than a “resin” floor finish with a couple of mm build-up.
