MikeGrahamT21
Yeah definitely election anxiety, keeping money in the pot in case some shock outcome had come true, I too have seen it in the education sector, being an IT engineer is usually a very busy time over august holidays, but not so for us this year
Alan Ambrose
Maybe the combination of house prices ticking up, mortgage rates ticking down and reasonablly quiet politically for the forseeable.

Local house builder here has SHUT one of his sites because the houses on the first site are not selling quick enough.
ToughButterCup
A6 Corridor Development Area round by us is starting to wake back up again @nod. One busy-ness indicator is to try and get a B+B in the neighbourhood. When the sites are busy, you can't get a bed : and when its not so busy - fairly easy. With one exception - the B+B near us. Talk about posh...... I know where I'm going if SWMBO kicks me out.

For us maybe, but for businesses a shock outcome would be anything other than labour and conservative, they can mostly guess the policies of the two major parties

Marvin
Building sites may be busy but insolvencies in construction are rampant: https://bcis.co.uk/news/construction-insolvencies-latest-news/ Lots of consolidation also happening... https://www.constructionnews.co.uk/financial/ma/?block_id=3 I am impressed with the ability of borrowers to afford the mortgages and I hope they continue to do so however..... https://www.credit-connect.co.uk/news/value-of-mortgages-in-arrears-hits-21-9bn/ Time will tell. I wish you all luck Marvin
DannyT
Not too busy in the midlands. Sites have one gang of Bricklayers where normally have 2 or 3. Subbys have cut our rates and been told to be thankful of a job. I was on more a thousand 10 years ago than I am now. Cost of living going up and up. Wages down.
