nod Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 I drove past this today Newly fitted boiler in a basement 1
Pocster Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Doesn’t “look” legal ! . Can’t imagine that’s allowed!!!
ProDave Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 What are you looking at in that picture that is "illegal"?
ProDave Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 You mean the house on the left not the one for sale? I wondered what that "periscope" was.
jayc89 Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 I believe it's legal to install a gas boiler in a cellar - we plan to do exactly this. I suspect the flue being at head hight, and not covered, and it being so close to the window do not comply with the regs though.
Radian Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Flow & return temperatures too high if supposed to be condensing.🙄
JohnMo Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Not sure it matters too much where you locate the boiler, as long as the flue is installed correctly. If it's legal or not? But looks a bodge, it's not even straight.
PeterW Posted November 18, 2022 Posted November 18, 2022 Boiler install in a cellar or basement is legal as long as it’s not LPG. Also has to meet all the regs for the flue which bizarrely that would as it is 300mm to an opening window… it does look though that someone has not bothered with a spirit level or enough flue supports !!!
