Russell griffiths Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Our wooden reveals where pre fixed to the windows but I didn't mention that as I thought it might confuse the issue.
Oz07 Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 The windows are fixed into timber frame thru reveals over there too. They're a "structural" part of the window I suppose
j_s Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 I'm going for a finish similar to the image Dudda posted. This is a renovation to a modern house, not a build. Obviously will be using higher quality ply.
Crofter Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Another plasterboard/window detail question... Where the plasterboard meets the window opening, I was going to have a feather edge there. Will this leave too much filling to be done at the corner? The alternative is to cut the window opening out of the board and then put new battens in for a board join slightly further over.
dpmiller Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Is it OK to use EPS rather than PIR to insulate the reveal?
Ed Davies Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 3 hours ago, dpmiller said: Is it OK to use EPS rather than PIR to insulate the reveal? Good question. My thought is that it's probably better not to because of the flammability of EPS but maybe actual EPS products are sufficiently treated that this isn't really a problem. I'd be interested in a definitive answer.
