Pocster
Many years ago ( before the build ) I slipped my disc . Since then twisting / bending have been limited and painful if I push . Strength is fine if I protect my back - I can bench press 100kg . But if standing up I try and put 20kg above my head my lower back has an issue . So - extra caution with heavy things .... ????

If I was just doing a bathroom I’d struggle and strain to get the tray in with no winch . joe90
When I worked fir a major comms company I was pissed off with all the “acronyms” being used, however the one I liked and continue to use is “ work smarter not harder”.

Plan being I can then thread the other 2 straps ( 4 ends ) all onto the 1 metre one - then that to the hook Edited September 30, 2020 by pocster

Mr Punter
How are you going to remove the straps and the bubblewrap after this is on the ground? Surely this can't be so heavy that you can't lift one end or a couple of people to help move it into final position? It is not Stonehenge you big jessie. Temp
Last one I did I could barely move on my own. After mortaring the floor I put two battens down at 1/3 and 2/3 of the width like | | . Then stood tray on edge on the battens and got it so it was leaning up against far wall. Lowered it down onto the battens. Then put a crowbar under a corner and raised it enough to pull a batten out. Repeated for other corner and battern. Worked a treat. The battens werent much thicker than the mortar.

As a LL I obviously have no friends to start with . Batons was my approach once I'm ready to lay it down in it's final position.
Pocster
Well ! Thanks to @Onoff ‘s suggestion of those clamps . Got the tray up . Don’t trust the winch 1 inch as it grinds , spurts , stalls like it’s dying - a quality eBay purchase . Cut a hole in the opposite wall so I could get a length of timber under . Winch now taking zero of the strain . Bit low - but I couldn’t easily go higher . At least I can get under it now ?
