Conor
So this is how it ended up ? The HIAB could basically only drop it off right to the side of the lorry. Couldn't get it in to position. I'll have to hire a telehandler to move it.
Bitpipe
I put mine on 4 sleepers - ground was quite level as it was excavated specifically & covered with Teram to keep the weeds down.
Oz07
Can telehandlers shift cabins what's empty weight?

Balance and getting forks under will be the challenge. But only has to move about 10m

Mr Punter
Shame to have to mess about again for just a storage container. They should have brought a more suitable vehicle to offload. You will need the big boy telehandler to move that.
Ed Davies
2 hours ago, Oz07 said: Can telehandlers shift cabins what's empty weight? Yup Another (largish) telehandler I had on site later had just driven up the road from another job where it had moved another 20' container. In that case they hadn't been able to get at the side pockets so put a spreader bar across the top and hung the container from strops off that. IIRC, that one wasn't empty, either. Triassic
I moved two 20foot containers using round fence posts as rollers. The containers were dropped in the driveway and I moved them up onto site, about 60m. I used a mini digger to pull them and repositioned the rollers as they popped out from the rear of the container. I’d be very careful moving them using a telehandler as steel on steel slides very easily and the containers could well fall off the forks. Made sure you use the fork slots in the base of each container.
Onoff
I've moved 18T about the same size but twice the length as the container on floor skates. Mind that was on a glass smooth warehouse floor..... (It only fell off once... ?)
