Just about to start on the Hep 20 plumbing in 15mm and we are having a manifold system. I was wondering how to make up the actual manifold as they do not manufacture one, unlike Speedfit. We have 12 connections on the hot supply and 17 on the cold. I would be interested to know how all you experts go about this? Thanks in advance for your help.

What's the make of glue you use Nick??
-
Thanks for this information and by the way, our flooring chap has specified 12mm marine ply

We have to glue and screw down the marine ply on the wetroom and bathroom floors and I was wondering what glue would be the best to use?

Thanks for this information it's really useful. We are using Hep 20, 15mm flexible pipe, so I assume, if we follow Nick's that we just bring these pipes through the 18mm ply?

We have these Grohe bar shower fittings and are wondering how to securely fit them place, they are really quite heavy and will need a solid support behind the plasterboard and tiling. There is a bewildering array of different fittings! Any advice would be much appreciated

We love Megabad too. Here's our sanitaryware; arrived last week and thought you'd like to see this picture of it

That's my job too, and I'm not allowed to complain either!

Wow, really coming on, it looks impressive. We must come over and have a look, that is if we can find a spare minute in the manic timetable!

Can't be sure I have put this in the correct section. We are not having gas but we are having a two ring LPG gas hob in the kitchen just as a standby. We have to make the hole through the timber frame so we can fit the pipe through into the kitchen. The gas bottles will sit outside in a secure box. We just need to ensure we make the correct sized hole and wonder if anyone can help? I think these are run off flexible rubber pipe, which is sheathed for protection. Thanks.,

That's because we're in Hartwell opposite the pub

We have got these acoustic/isolation shields for our toilets. Has anyone used these I wonder. They look like a good idea and I believe it is simply necessary to carefully cut away the excess and run a bead of silicone around after the toilet has been fitted?

This wetroom must have a flat floor as we plan to have the glass door opening across the corner of it and acting as a shower screen as well. Difficult to describe - this is on the top floor with a sloping roof so it's all a bit of a tight fit. I think we shall probably have to go with a tiled floor. Thanks Nick.

I was wondering if it is sensible to cover the entire floor of the wetroom, including the shower former, in vinyl such as Karndean etc., as opposed to tile? This would give the floor a seamless finish. Would you need a special type of vinyl that would be non slip?

We are having a look around for doors for our house which has three floors, so we have to have fire rated ones. We have been looking at JBK ones called River Oak from a company called Hamiltons online. They are really reasonable and I wondered if anyone else has experience of these doors? We are also looking to source the frames and again looking for any recommendations. Thanks.

It's all happening! Looking good, see you've got some lovely clay there! Hope it stays dry for you. Looks like our stone skin is finally going up next week

Good luck with that one Jeremy

Have another question for Nick. How do you seal between the shower tray former and the floor? Also I notice from your picture that you have turned the mosaics up to the wall, wondering why? If I recall you paint the walls with the waterproof sealant. Thanks
-
This is very useful, thanks. The pics look great Nick. We will look at Hepworth. Out of interest should we use the pipe that is inside a sleeve for our runs? I seem to recall that Jeremy used marine ply glued to his bathroom floors, would we need to do that? We shall probably be using ceramic tiles on two of the floors and Amtico on the other.

We are getting the bulk of our bathroom ceramics and taps etc from Megabad. We need to sort out the pipework for first fix, planning to use JG speedfit for the pipework manifold system and also need to source the waste water kit. Wondering wether you have any recommendations for suppliers of these? We also have three wetrooms (yes, it's a lot). I recall Nick recommended a supplier called Diamond on eBay. They seem to be cheaper than the better known brands, wondering if anyone has any other recommendations? Thanks in advance for your help

This has been very helpful, thanks to all. Moving on to plumbing........

We are in the process of purchasing our electrical equipment and wondering where to source this. Looking at CPC which seems to be reasonable. Also our electrician is keen to have the front mounted plastic patress boxes (dry lining boxes) and I am also interested in which are the best make to get. Very interested in the general consensus
