Is there any Building Regulation that would prevent the use of a pull out nozzle kitchen tap, when the new build has an unvented supply? Is there any pull out kitchen tap that is WRAS approved? If not, is there any pull out kitchen tap that is unobjectionable under BR (with an unvented supply)?

New build in progress. External soil vent pipe. If anti-siphon wastes are fitted to basins in each WC, does the WC require any other AAV?

New build in progress. Highly permeable site down to permeable bedrock. Qu. How to connect 68 or 80mm downpipe to 63mm twinwall pipe?
-
New build in progress. Highly permeable strata all the way down to permeable bedrock. Trench foundation sitting on limestone brash. Foundation blocks are concrete. Planned: Rainwater downpipes mostly 68mm > bottle gully > twinwall pipe 63mm > rainwater garden (incl existing trees) Qu: Should the downpipes have a shoe at the bottom or should they simply hang vertically above the gully?

What make/model pls?

Anyone thrilled with how easy it is to keep their loo clean? If so, what make/model/price please?

New build in progress. Entire site is highly permeable, at all levels (subsurface, superficial deposits, bedrock). Rainwater discharge to planting (trees, new raingarden planting). One 4 x 3m porch roof gutter discharge needs to cross a 3m driveway to discharge to plants. Occasional use driveway, with cars & perhaps the odd small lorry. Qu: What piping to use under the driveway? Rigiduct is rated at 450N, whatever that means Plain PVC drains in weak mix concrete is another possibility There may be other cost-effective options

Are there any Building Regs requirements for space around a toilet?

Used Contega solido tape to seal Velux frame to surround. With any luck, that will keep it airtight Then insulated plasterboard to pack out reveals.
-
Sadly no plastic membrane, only plasterboard with scrim and skim. But might be able to seal an airtight membrane to window frame & plasterboard

New build in progress. Roof window (Velux) installed with insulation sleeve around & under the flashing. Problem: Rough opening bigger than the window. Gap between window and rough opening allows free air flow. How to make this airtight? And well insulated?

New build in progress. Click vinyl flooring tiles or planks to be laid on screed. Liquid screed already laid. Problem: gap between screed & door threshold What to do, to prepare for flooring?
-
New build in progress Ducts going down through screed/insulation/concrete slab & out through external walls. Ducts are open at both ends. How to ensure a) no vermin can enter the house through the ducts b) air/heat exchange with the exterior is minimised

Bifolds moved away from that corner by 400mm

Avoiding external pipes. Is it possible to put a T on the internal bend(s)? Should the waste exit through wall be moved to between units? 2 dishwashers also en route to waste exit (pic)
-
Nobody likes blockages or inaccessible waste pipes. Kitchen waste running behind units. Is that a bad idea? Given the situation, how to mitigate? Units not installed yet. Waste pipe hole through wall drilled. Can be redrilled if needed. From wall end at right, no units for 300mm along wall Then 500mm drawer unit Then 1000mm corner carousel unit Waste pipe hole 1000mm from wall end at right

What cables to pull through?
WWilts replied to WWilts's topic in Networks, AV, Security & Automation
Is it this cable please? Plan to order it today if so. -
New build in progress. 3 phase cutout & meter (PME) installed in kiosk about 15m from new build. Rigiduct buried in trench, runs from kiosk to near new build. Intention is to wire house in 1 phase but have 3 phase available in house for future proofing Q. How to get electricity to the new build house? ie what specification cable to pull through the duct? Assume complete ignorance here please.

Weird plaster issue at 400mm centres
WWilts replied to Adsibob's topic in Lofts, Dormers & Loft Conversions
Is it advisable to paint the cills/wooden window boards before skimming the plasterboard walls/ceiling? As a way of reducing expansion & shrinkage of the window boards? -

New build in progress. With cold roof space. Includes central attic space in hipped roof. Pics of first (top) floor wall ceiling junctions, plasterboard. Pics of worst gaps. No poly membrane above. Old school plasterer, with a reputation for quality skim. Never used tapes, very suspicious/resistant. Can scrim & skim make such gaps airtight? PS Not looking for advice on what should have been done earlier, just trying to make the best of it moving forward.
