  1. Thanks John.....! I have gone back through the menu and the duration was actually set for 15mins, with a max time of 3 hours (so i figure it will spend 3 hours trying to hit the temp then give up and/or succeed).... so I am wondering if that's what has caused the issue.....It was using 15min slots to try and hit the temp...burning energy but not actually making a material difference to the temp? I have it set to go on again this afternoon, with an hour duration starting at 2pm with a max duration of 3 hours. Hopefully that sorts it??
  2. nope, we are fully occupying the house and I was around all day yesterday. Heatmeiser isn't showing any surprising warm ups of rooms. I was in and out the utility room all day, and cant say I noticed much that was suspicious. I have reset the legionnaires cycle to run again today (12 to 5pm) to see if it replicates it.... but i am still keen to get to the bottom of it!!
  3. normal cylinder temp is 50 degrees, legionnaire cycle is set to boost it to 55 degrees. Cylinder controller is set to ''standard'' mode. Edit; sorry it is 28kw not 38kw. Which is still a lot on a warm, sunny day when the temp wasn't stone cold beforehand.
  4. We have just moved into a new build, with a Samsung Gen6 ASHP, 300L cylinder and a heatmeiser controller. New build with Building Regs +20% insulation standard, meticulously checked by myself during the 2 years of construction. Joules came out and 'commissioned' it last week in the most casual of fashions. They set it up, shrugged off my requests for what I wanted, I didn't fight them for it (because we were moving in at the time) and they went on their way. I figured I would adjust it after the fact. The only thing I have changed since then, is for the legionnaires cycle to be done during the day between 12 and 5pm on a Wednesday, when we are out & to maximise the 4kw of PV we have. It's set to 55 degrees for this (by Joules) on an otherwise 50degs cylinder temp. The last several days we use between 4 - 6kw for the DHW which im fine with...however the first legionnaires cycle yesterday used 38kw (!!!) and as far as I can tell it never hit 55 degrees. I also woke up to an error message this morning (e919) which when I googled it came up as the legionnaires cycle not hitting the desired temp. I simple cannot figure out where this 28kw went..... as the cylinder 'only' hit 50 degrees odd and the heating never came on....but that energy went somewhere. apologies, it used 28kw not 38kw!!
  5. Nope, opened it as per their instructions. They were very casual, and their suggestions was to send me the PCB for me to replace. Turns out not needed, it was a miss wired BMS switch that was simply stopped it turning on at all. Disconnecting this resolved it straight away, then fault finding the wiring showed I'd caught two wires together. All sorted
  6. We have 2 x Vent Axia MVHR, the bigger unit (Sentinel Kinetic Plus B) is not powering on in any capaity. Vent Axia are saying 10 days+ for an engineer to come and have a look, but they were very surprised to hear it had failed as they are all line tested before dispatch apparently. Has anyone had one DoA, any thoughts on what I could try? PCB Fuse looks OK, as do the connections & everything else I can see on the board.... Many thanks,
  7. Went for full planning with slightly modified designs to our extension + existing refurbishment, so materially the 'same'. We kept nigh on the identical floor plan, styling etc just made a roof Mono pitch to compliment the extension's. No issues from planning.
  8. Thanks conor, have you got any pics of how it turned out? Thanks for reminder on planning..... That's a really good point!!!
  9. Hi all, We were originally looking at black slate Z Stone, but our builder has shown us the weight and thickness of it vs the render, and price!, and we are having real second thoughts on it. Can anyone recommend an alternative black/very dark cladding to fit a modern style bungalow? White render, back aluminium windows. We like charred wood but with 4 young children, I can see them picking at it and knocking it about. Any other black tile treatments for external application which people would recommend? ... Thanks in advance!
  10. Thanks very much big jimbo, we'll give it a go!
  11. Yep, we have two small bit irritating gaps very top and bottom, then bigger middle gap. All too big for neffs stupid fillers, to small for DIY kitchens fillers.... Grrrr
  12. Please see photo attached. Above and below both the oven and microwave you can see the internal trim of the cabinets. Never had this with Wren when we fitted the same appliances before, other then a gap between them which I filled with a wood off cut. kitchen supplier (diy kitchens) are fobbing us off as a "we can supply wood to cut down, but neff should supply a filler panel...... Not all appliances are the same size". Neff just sign post is to a £150 kit which I'm not convinced will solve it. Anyone else come across this?....... Any smart ideas? Thanks in advance!
  13. Just a gentle bump to see how people got on with it? Thanks
  14. Starlink? Wireless broadband wherever you want it....
  15. Got an actual link? Smells very fishy to me...
  16. Could you rotate it round the corner, behind the wood fence?
  17. The most bizarre situation to be in... We have our system up and running on our new room, having had it dismantled for 2 yewrs, now using a refurbished Solis inverter. Generating fine and all looking good, however... It is generating an ultra high pitched whine, like a mosquito on steroids. The most annoying thing... I am the only one that can hear it!! Wife, builder, plumber, Electrician all just can't hear it so have no idea what I'm talking about. The unit otherwise works fine, and I'm probably going to need to replace it when we move in if I can't get to the bottom of it, issue being I probably can't return it because it's technically working fine. Has anyone ever come across this before?
  18. Worked like a treat, thanks all!
  19. Thanks, yes electrician has already confirmed he will do all of that... shortening, tidying, trunking! First, swap them wires over though!!!
  20. Not a pic of it opened up, but attached pic shows it. Right pair wires go to inverter's isolator, left hand pair go to consumer unit. He is back tomorrow to tidy up cables and finish the install.
  21. Thanks nick! , my electrician is on site tomorrow so I'll ask him to reverse it and see if it gets it flashing again. Is there any damage caused by getting it the wrong way round?
  22. We connected our solar array following the dismantling of it off our old roof 2 years ago. The inverter had failed in that time, which has been replaced and all looked to be OK. The house is not complete yet, so after an afternoon of generation I nipped over to check and the inverter had recorded 4.7kwh of generation.... But my solar meter had not increased. It also has a solid red LED. Any thoughts on why it would not be counting the units? House is probably drawing 0w right now, so surely it would just be dumping it to grid... So still generating?
  23. It's called money claim online these days!
  24. Our installer said we could have one of the main controllers (with digital readouts) per room as long as we wired 4 core. He supplied the controller's, we installed the 4 core.... Now 6 months later vent axia confirmed it can't be done!! And a rocker switch off 2 core (as you've suggested) is all we can have. Why can't professional expert installers just do their job right first time. Grrr
  25. Not much of an update. Both systems are installed and are due to be commissioned in a couple of weeks. Installer is a nice guy and was reasonably priced & quick to fit us in, but he has left a little bit more work for me to organise then I would normally be OK with...just with so much going on its hard to muster the energy to push back at times! Hoping commissioning goes ok in a couple of weeks and away we go!
