Hey, Our drainage plans show a distribution/sampling chamber at the start of our pumped drainage field Bio Pure 3. Is this the cheapest solution around: https://www.drainagesuperstore.co.uk/product/underground-sampling-and-distribution-system-chamber-110mm.html I spoke to loads of drainage suppliers and they have never heard of what I described. I'm assuming people usually make up their own? Thanks

Ha! I'm visiting them next week. They make some fantastic products. The last time I visited them they had an incredible spiral stair case in production. I work with a company in Germany who make all sorts of fantastic shuttering systems and moulds for precast. They have had a concrete pump in development for the last 10 years and it's finally starting to take off in Europe. It basically injects concrete smoothly into closed moulds (which have to be incredibly strong) from the lowest point. The finish that results is like glass.

Have you considered precast concrete? - http://fpmccann.co.uk/precast-concrete/walling/l-walls I haven't consulted my engineers yet for my next walk out basement build... but no way am I doing it the last way with blocks etc! I might even make my own insulated forms with insulation pins and make a climber form work which I can anchor into the already cast concrete and climb it up every 800mm pour.

Help me out of these holes, please!

He is correct and I sell it to sites all over the UK. It's called tie bolt sleeve and cones. No reason why it cant be used on your form work but it's typically used with DYWIDAG formwork bar. You could also try using a tie bolt breaking agent on the bar. We supply something called bar break which coats the bar and allows it to be pulled out of green concrete. I don't know much about the chemical as I specialise in lifting systems and machinery for precast but here is the manufactures data sheet http://www.adomast.co.uk/images/uploads/files/docs/Adobreak Data Sheet 2014.pdf- 79 replies

If you go for the socket option and need any fixing sockets designed for precast concrete let me know.
-
Hahah Well the sockets only just gone on so hopefully won't be off for many years. Kitchen is nearly finished now, so is my house. Only taken 20 months to renovate fully >.<

I would rather of had the main bowl pipe coming straight down but there was no room in the cupboard for the dishwasher joint on the right hand side so I swapped it. Does this look alright before I solvent weld bits up? Thanks!

Aye it's more the potential fatality this could have caused and my head that hurts

MK Sentor is the culprit.

Nope I just jumped out of my skin and banged my head

Yesterday I was giving my electrician a hand by screwing some back boxes onto my wall and feeding cable through the trunking. As he was wiring and testing the other sockets at the same time he isolated the kitchen socket MCB by turning it in the off position and not isolating all of the power. However it turns out the MCB for the kitchen sockets is faulty and remains live no matter when turned off or on. I found this our the hard way by touching the wires when I pulled it through the trunking. Gave me quite a shock but fortunately no burns or serious damage other than a dull ache in the palm of my hand. I bought the consumer unit new from Screwfix over a year ago but we only just made the kitchen circuit live so we only just found the fault. I have contacted the manufacture about this and awaiting a reply. A bit scary to think if I had brushed against it a few minutes earlier whilst plumbing in the copper pipe for my washing machine. How serious do you think they will take this? I can't believe that can happen with a MCB?

I mixed about 35 m3 C35 for our retaining wall in a Belle Mini Mix I spent days shovelling several loads of 28T tipped ballast into the mixer, and scooped it into the giant drainage pipe to let gravity do the work and fill down into the wall cavity. Don't do it, it's not fun and I fortunately had gravity on my side. For the next cabin I'm pumping all the concrete!

Hi Barney, Yep the hand applied SIOO treated larch has almost bleached. You can see the difference on this video - We DIY applied the SIOO for the fascias. The cladding was done in a factory... they probably used way less. I love the finish it gives.
-
Thank you! I take it was a BP1?
-
Thanks, did you manage to dig out the invoice? We just got some grit/soil approved at £15.00 a tonne EX haulage.
-
SOLD! If you don't mind me asking how much was it? I am only guessing it's £400 off the website.
-
I will be buying a BioPure 3 soon for our log cabin developments and I will need to pump the treated effluent up to the drainage field. 55m and about 1 - 1.5m head. They offer a pumped outlet but at £400.00 I'm wondering if I should DIY this as the drainage consultancy fees for getting the system passed and buying soil (as ours failed the test) has drained my wallet! From what I can see it's just a tank with a submersible pump in: Diameter 1250mm Overall height 1510mm Capacity 1.84m3 Looking at the price of underground water tanks I might as well just pay the £400? Did anyone have any luck negotiation with BioPure/WeBuildIt?
-
Can you not just spray the beads with plastic etching primer then paint over them with your paint?
-
Erm 3 coats treatment and one coat protector. The fascias have basically bleached silver, really fast! The cladding which was factory treated - that arrived on site pretty much orange in colour. My mother actually rejected about 1/3 because it had knots and we paid for A grade 6m lengths. We got delivered 60% 2 - 4m lengths. We rejected all the corner trims as they were riddled with knots. Cladding came to about £8,000.00 or something. Dad way over ordered though so we have tons left for a summer house... or my cabin

Happy Days! I supply the precast industry with lifting systems so I might pop to one of my customers that makes lintels haha
