  1. Where the cone is now nice toss pot basically put some of my pavers . Can’t possibly have sand on the lane ! Tosser !
  2. Noticed damp in the recess . Went outside to look . Only lite rain today . A neighbor ( aka wanker ) had placed some of the cobble stones back at the end presumably to stop the sand washing out . No idea when they did this - but clearly will cause a dam .So clearly still an issue ( can’t say if their block caused the issue but it doesn’t help me ) . Removed blocks and put cone out now ffs . So still an issue - what a bast !
  3. Paint what ? The underside of a glazing frame sat on an upstand ?
  4. I can’t get to the outside of the foam
  5. I did . I posted on here
  6. Don’t doubt you . But the spec should say something . I did use a soudal one ( so not cheap brand shite ) . I did just 1 glazed unit - I’ll see how it goes ( as the foam is in ) - if I determine the leak is still over the upstands I.e foams doing jack ; I’ll remove the glass next summer scrape out the foam and redo with your suggested weapon of choice .
  7. Back it up Welsh Wizard with facts …. 🤨
  8. But that’s the entire point Uncle Nick . 99% of the (expletive deleted)ing expanding foam spec doesn’t say shit about water resistance. @Mr Punter fault for mentioning it ! 😝 . But that’s bostik one does say closed cell .
  9. https://www.bostik.com/assets/bostik/TDS_SX Professionals Gun Grade Expanding PU Foam_en_GB.pdf actually states closed cell 70%
  10. But the description of that is pretty much like everything else “ air gap sealer “ …. 😕
  11. Can’t get in there - too tight and awkward a gap . If I took the glass out I could from above .
  12. Bit of a mess really ! I.e simple enough requirement yet impossible to tell ! I even looked at the spec sheet for what I used on the Soundal website and it’s basically unhelpful .
  13. How can I tell ? nothing obvious on canister checking and of course most suppliers don’t state ‘open’ or ‘closed ‘ cell - that would be too easy . It would seem it’s almost impossible to purchase with certainty of ‘ closed cell ‘ because most just say water resistant ….
  14. Nothing to really report . Had substantial rain this morning- no leak from the main ‘over the slab ‘ bit . Those small walk on glazing units - no leak , but getting my finger right up in the gap between upstand and glazing can feel its damp . So foamed one window around that ‘weak spot ‘ .
  15. Funny isn’t it how such a simple thing to decide on becomes a much larger thing . I do know someone with a tight letterbox ( not a euphemism ) - and you do have to fight to get anything past its Arnie tight grip .
  16. It is . i did initially suffer the conundrum of a letter box on our front door . But it’s triple glazed super insulated- couldn’t live with the fact it would cause a draft .
  17. Parcel bin . I have Lora sensor on it and cctv . I have no friends so rarely get mail / male . But when an opening arrives I jump right in .
  18. Hmmm I think I 3d printers print volume is limited . Everything nowadays is “ 3d print one “ or “ just write some code “ or maybe “ just get a million pounds “ . If only it was that simple
  19. People! I've got this recessed drain cover for the sump. So the raised circlular lip sits inside top of tank. It's a complete b'stard to pull the silver 'lid' out. Absolute pain - never comes out. So I want to replace it with a non recessed one - just an easy 'flat' handled one. But unless I'm misunderstanding ( quite possible ) I can't find a flat lid with a circle frame lip underside ( if that makes sense ). Theres nothing around the sump opening to fit to hence the lid 'sits' on the sump tank. But I end up taking the entire thing out and smashing the (expletive deleted) out of the metal lid to get it out. Can't seem to find something to swap it to..... frame is around 600cm sq. diameter of circular lip is 46cm
  20. I have external land drain around the base . I was told that essentially this will fail over time . My 100% ( !!! ) guarantee of no water ingress is the internal drain set in the screed . Walls / floors all membrane into it ., then out in my case to a sump . The view I was given at the time was manage the water rather than attempt to keep it out . Tbh when the walls weren’t finished I.e can see the membrane I never saw a single drop of water behind it anyway . Overkill better than underkill ? 😊
  21. The instructions are not much fun . They sent me 7 and apparently I had to “ use the right one “ . Whilst I could eliminate a few it was impossible to know which was the correct one ! . Many annoyed phone calls later I gave up and built the thing not in situ - simply trial and error . Had bits left over of course 😊 . Then installed of course in the wall . For an “elite” product correct and usable instructions would have been nice .
  22. Yeah I might ignore that one 😊
  23. Have a solid fence between me and neighbour anyway. So PV and my side of fence not an issue. My installer will do this ( they cited that as long as it's not visible from the street then planning isn't required..... ) - but I suspect their costs may make this a futile exercise - but would a nice sparky just do it???
  24. Dead bodies always (expletive deleted) things up!
  25. Oooooo. Thats nice and cheap!. So It's just the cost of a sparky then?
