Dug out the end . Got my nice concrete / bitumen slab . ground to right of quoin seems dry even as I dig down . Ground in front of quoin damp - so suggests waters still getting in . Going to tidy this up then concrete in the lot
-
Yes . I was wondering that . When it pisses down decking will direct water right at the glazing . Then pour down just before it
-
I still don’t get it . It’s pissed down for weeks everything was swimming in water zero leak from this front part . (expletive deleted)s me off
-
Well the upstands leak everywhere 😂 . But that leak is highest point . Tempted to just (expletive deleted) expanding foam all in there
-
It’s the front I don’t get . Blocks not down had weeks of torrential rain . Zero leak . Put blocks back it leaks ! . What’s changed ? I’ve raised the level infront that wall a few mm ….

Brings a tear / tear to my hole
-
It does - I was looking at that . But f me - it’s hard too see how it gets in from that . More annoyed at the “ big leak “ fix . I’m an atheist but gods a (expletive deleted)

I’m going to reseal those 2 front ones next summer - just amazes me that water likes coming in my house so much !
-
So roof is at Green. It then goes up over the upstands definitely coming in at blue . I just don’t see ( apart from rising water ) how it gets from green .Upstands height Is green to blue ! . New one on me to add to the list ! . I know the upstands leak because the front one is really low to the ground - just can’t see how water gets in at the rear and highest point
-
Another new leak . Strange one . Coming in over upstand . But the roof ends at the top of the brickwork then the asphalt goes up and over the timbers . So the depth of glass to timber is the combined height of all the timbers . Not 30cm of course - but a fair bit . I quickly took up the decking at that corner expecting to find it blocked or water pooling - but nothing . So it’s not water rising high and coming in . So I’m confused how ??
-
I tipped a jug of water in that corner - it flowed out onto the lane - as it should . Perhaps putting the pavers in I caused a crack underneath ? Anyway ! New plan . As I completely concreted upto the edge of that coping stone . I’m going to angle grind it in half . Dig it out and a bit into the lane . Concrete that and bitumen .
-
But look at that corner . kiln dried sand got no where to go . But in that corner it’s funnelled down . Perhaps the sand has actually helped me by showing the route ?? Unclear with no pavers down and torrential rain it didn’t leak ….
-
Obviously sand has washed away and I’ve effectively re directed water flow . Might get the sand out at the base of the wall and cement that bit where the sand is
-
Put the block paving back just a few days ago . Lots of rain . Leaks !!!!
-
Had another look looks same too me . Can see red brick in some of the cracked plaster . Zero cracking outside which I find really strange if subsidence . Got someone looking today who will go in eaves and maybe remove some of the plaster . I suspect the brickwork is solid ( fact I could see it and no obvious cracks in brickwork) - but requires investigation
-
Ok checked with broker i.e. not talked to insurer and I am covered for subsidence . So do I tell insurer now that "I think theres a problem" . Do they send an expert out to look?
-
I'm being to think this is the issue. This under pinning yes?. Will insurance cover this? The reason I asked is we had a water tank in the loft fail and cause 5k of damage. That counts as escape of water. This though effectively sub sidence? - well insurer claim I'm not covered for this i.e. 2 "water" issues ? even though clearly they are unrelated.
-
Right I've been informed this crack is worse. I'm going to look at it tomorrow. The roof leaks still there - roofer supposedly attending tomorrow to do that. On the assumption this crack isn't just from the leak how do I approach the insurance company?. Do I approach them first?; what do I do? Cheers

I think Claude code can but (expletive deleted) me for $20 a month I get about 10 ‘prompts’ then I’m stuffed until 2am ! . I do literally 100 messages an hour with chat . I suspect everyone who uses Claude code etc on here has a works “ maximum “ account .

Claude is telling me it can’t push or pull from git !!! don’t have the ability to access git repositories, and this isn’t a feature that’s available through any paid tier or upgrade. My capabilities are the same regardless of subscription level when it comes to external system access. I cannot: • Access GitHub, GitLab, or any git repositories via URL • Clone, pull, or push to repositories • Browse remote code repositories • Execute git commands on your system • Connect to external development tools or version control systems claude code ! AI so advanced it doesn’t mention that !
