Walk on glazing - drip , drip ( yes I know ! )
Pocster replied to Pocster's topic in Skylights & Roof Windows
Yeah I have in strategic spots where maybe a water track line crosses a pipe - put a zip tie on it to help limit it . Seems to work sometimes. It’s the Lightwells I’m unsure what to do with . Need to have water drip into some kind of channel around them that direct the water into a membrane . Not an easy thing … -

The 2nd photo is a sky light just outside the electrics cabinet . New line of water tracking in its direction !!! . So I wedged some membrane up with a fall to at least direct any drops outside the electrics room …. -
Ok - stop laughing that’s the 1st thing . The ongoing saga continues- due to the storm etc has got a bit worse understandably. So the glazing does not leak . I believe water is getting in outside the plot running down the wall and getting in over the concrete slab . If you look closely at the glazing you can see water comes in only above the concrete I.e dry as a bone above this . I need to ( one day ! ) dig up the lane side outside that wall and try and fine any gaps -fill with cement . But of course - that’s not a guaranteed fix . So in reality I think I need a 2nd ceiling ( above tiles - below cables ) with the sole purpose of directing water towards the edge ( dimpled membrane on wall leading to perimeter drain ) Take any suggestions how to do this ! . My 1st issue is how to make a ‘tray’ that sits around the base of the Lightwells and directs water into a ‘ceiling ‘ membrane . Obviously once I think I have a solution I’ll empty the room , take down the tiled ceiling . So I’m thinking of a simple ‘wedge’ structure . The membrane sits in this ; and as it has a fall directs water to the outer wall . Its what I do around the sky lights that’s got me a bit stuck . Photos for amusement of current sky light leaks

Just about got around the issue by having HA detect doorbell push and inspire Alexa to do a door ring tone

Small leak from front again ffs ! Stuck a bucket under the right plug - fair bit of water came out . Guess I’ll need to empty it daily until second trap turns up … -

Yep . I’ve ordered a much cheaper waterless flexible trap and will have double drains . -
FFS new doorbell lost pair with chime and won't repair! Grrrrrr

No blockage for me -
Yeah - I’ve been seeing that . Early next year now I reckon

Agree. Others are playing catchup to Bambu. BUT! as my very 1st 3d printer it seemed to whip the floor of all the others in ( for me ) ease of use. I just want to print not fanny around plate levelling etc etc etc. Printing stuff not setting it up. No 3d printer is perfect and of course I get bad prints for a variety of reasons.

35+10 ( postage ) for another comparable valve! - rip off! Tempted to swap this syphon trap to the side where the water seems to pool and stick a bottle trap on the other and link them together. That seem ok?? -

The current Hepvo goes straight into a discharge pipe and outside ( not into drain ) . Think I’ll just install another water less trap on the other outlet and connect them together . -

No water out of front . But some still pooling in right side where there’s no drain . Think I’ll have to do the double drain bodge -
Bambu is best - even entry level .

What confuses me is you can configure left or right - but how does the water know which side to run too ! ? 🤣 -

I’ll let it run for tonight and see . When I did take the heat exchanger out it did have a surprisingly large amount of water in it . -

I managed to pack it off the wall at the base . So it tips a bit more backwards . At this point in time as it’s run flawlessly for 4 yrs - I can only assume it’s moved slightly causing water to pool forwards and to the right ( bit with no drain ) . Or maybe dirt/ dust in the heat exchanger changing water flow direction ??? . How best clean that ? . Just sit in the bath and run hot water and detergent through it ?? All back together now . Want too see that water out the front has been solved . Then it’s in the lap of the gods if it flows left ( hurrah ) or right ( boo ) -
My view and experience is the opposite . We have ufh in the bathroom . I was worried it wouldn’t be enough to hear the space so added an electric towel rail . Towel rail has never been put on . Ufh in the bathroom ( as such a relatively small room ) heats from ufh no issue . I have ufh in bedrooms . Because someone ( I.e SWMBO ) will always want it warmer !

Stuck a small spirit level inside it as best I could . Assume really I want it to be slightly tilted back so water runs away from the front and to the left where my drain is . Seems to be the opposite in both axis !! -

Notice felt guide on one side bent . Other side fell off . Ct1 that side back on ? Is this enough to cause water to run forwards ? -

So it’s dripping again from the front . Opened both valve caps empty of water . So the heat exchanger I assume . Do I clean it ? Just rinse water through it ??
