So I look for nice fancy electric thingies. Sure enough I find some ( ignoring £££ ). https://premiumfire-uk.napoleon.com/products/purview-60?gclid=Cj0KCQiAhf2MBhDNARIsAKXU5GQYrF68Kd6wPZYZghCV_BfsHXPMwLba_rUKk8mGAKR5fJr7CkHKEo4aAnOQEALw_wcB

Agree. In the stick's no problem. In a city it does feel irresponsible for such a visual 'effect'. Only 1 planet earth.....
-
Yeah it's the bad bits (PM) that I guess I am thinking of. SWMBO might be persuaded for some electric 'flame effect' fire (FFS) but I'm not convinced . Really want something I can stick someone's hand in and burn them for punishment.

Things like this make me rethink "Just 8% of the UK population make up the emissions released by burning wood indoors. The Guardian found that half of those people preferred this method for aesthetic reasons rather than functional (heat) purposes. In response, Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation urged people to only use wood burners if they had no alternative source of heat."
-
I was under the impression is was all bad now.... Sure it was on the bbc - but can't find the item. But found this.... https://www.savemoneycutcarbon.com/learn-save/are-wood-burning-stoves-bad-for-the-environment/

Perfect - loads of spare ufh pipe etc.
-
I can thread it through conduit no issue. Can't fix it to anything as it crosses my magic underground hell hole.

SWMBO intended to have a log burner when ( if ever ) we complete the build. Flue's in etc. I have tons of ready to burn dried fire wood. She wanted it for visual effect and of course the heat it generates ( though with UFH it isn't necessary for that ) The log burner was planned many years ago long before climate change became a big thing. The house is designed specifically to be energy efficient and so it feels a bit irresponsible now to stick a log burner in. I could just omit it and accept I wasted cash on the flue etc. What do others feel? - I guess potentially they could be banned? ( log burners ; not members ? )

Lights are mains Cable is on the surface i.e. across a flat roof Intention was just to stick a plug on it as it enters the house and straight into a socket. Consumer unit is modern ( so has at least one of those ? )
-
What cable do I need? Preferably cheap!. Just to connect to some out door lights . Will be 'hidden' externally i.e. can't be walked on etc. so assume don't need armoured??
-
Careful you'll start a bidding war...
-
Bet they would of loved some on walk on glazing on that ship
-
This might be tricky on my own so as I am crap apprentice I may need SWMBO as my crap apprentice . So to Nick she would be crap, crap apprentice ... Or I could just 'risk' doing it all on my own...

Ffs , yes boss

But you said to do that “ CT1 - thin bead between the seal and the trap, same between seal and tray then do it up and leave 24 hours“ I thought it would be better to stick seal to trap ( let it set ; also can’t move ) then silicone whole lot to tray …
-
Ok - you’re the boss !. Think I’ll ct1 the rubber ring to the fitting first and let that set
-
But if it still leaks I’ll never get the (expletive deleted)er out uncle Nick !
-
Flat - can feel round the edge from above
-
I’m just worried if I do that and it still leaks I’ll never get it out .( between seal and tray I mean )
-
-
I have a leak from the ensuite waste . Tested this ages ago all fine . SWMBO has a shower - slight leak . I manage to tighten the trap half a turn - leaks even more !! Can’t see anything obvious. Trap seems good , rubber seal seems good . Underside of tray hole is a bit tight to that timber - but as you can see in photo’s it’s not catching in . Is there perhaps a different / better trap I can use ???
