    The SE app has been strange recently. SE is set to only charge from solar and not to discharge between 00:30 and 04:30 otherwise PW grabs it all . This bit works . What SE is doing now I have no idea …. I suspect some firmware balls up on SE side …

    Yes . I suspected issues . Now they are confirmed. Best to share the rewards and the pain ! PW charges off SE ( correct I think ) Then greedy SE steals it back - around the loop we go . Even when PW charges from 00:30 to 04:30 SE gets ready to steal !! Talking to installer as we speak ; also notice SE app doing strange ( incorrect ) things . The lovely effect of cloud apps 🙄😞

    Our self consumption in summer ( ignoring ev ) is around 10kw Of course due to all the usually working HA - no light etc. gets left on …

    So far this month zero electricity bill and that includes charging the EV. I try to be intelligent ( did say try ! ) rather than frugal on use . EV charging for example ; with a bit of planning has cost zero to charge . Obviously having 23kw of storage helps somewhat .

    I still think cctv is the way to go as it solves many ‘pir’ issues . Also future wise you could add face recognition and then “ emotion recognition “. If SWMBO.location == lounge & SWMBO.mood == angry & SWMBO.carrying == knife then lockdown() Sad thing is I’m not joking ! - this is what I want to do . The fun will be endless 😁👍 THIS is future proofing!!

    Yeah I tried pir with humidity . It’s better . But if SWMBO has a real long soak in the bath ( and falls asleep ) lights can still turn off . I did suggest a camera but SWMBO ……

    Yeah that can happen also . Especially true for my bathroom . Pir turns lights on but if you are in the shower can’t detect you ! - so lights go off eventually. I did suggest to SWMBO a camera would solve it ; but she wasn’t sold on the idea ….

    I use HomeSeer pc software to control z wave Qubino switches . I also have z wave aeotec sensors ( so pir , temp , light etc. ) . One thing I have noticed is that pir over a large area is difficult ( say to keep lighting on ) . I’m going to change a pir to an ip camera . Then the theory is I can setup zones in blu iris for lighting rather than multiple pirs trying to cover an area .

    In a marble stone yard a guy told me Italian granite I.e expensive is usually from China but machined in Italy just so the premium can be added . If you say “ Italian granite “ you would naturally assume completely from Italy !! - and pay a substantial premium . Is this true ? Or just a myth ! 😁
