Noggin ', nogging, dwang, nog: be gentle with me....

Is that for getting the boards to fit i.e. wriggle room? Or expansion? -

Imo, a tongue against the wall looks a bit rough. Cut edges much better. -
Will probably have one knocking about. I did think the - end looked a bit odd, like a crack in the factory solder where the lead joins the body: Looking closer I'd say that - and should be soldered to both sides of the board. This side, well it might be making contact with the copper track by there's hardly any flow through:
-
Yep did try. Had the back off. Nothing obvious. No idea on the soldered in battery other than it's yellow and has "70" written on it. At rest the pinouts seem correct. 1&2 are NC and 3&4 are NO with respect to L. Relays are obsolete, Omron G6C-2117P-US-SV. Just poked the reset button under the cover and it's come right. Wonder why, never happened before...battery? I'll slap it back on tonight and setup the times again.

Came downstairs this morning to find the place uncomfortably warm. Downstairs CH had been on all night. The controller seems to be at fault. The LCD display has gone all squiffy and locked. I can press either of the grey buttons and nothing changes: Didn't have time to do anything other than whip it off the wall and tape over the connection plate then leave SWMBO a note. Taken it to work with me so I'll whip the cover off and see if there's a replaceable battery in there. Can't honestly remember if I've ever done this before, vague recollections maybe... I'll also chuck a meter on it and see if the relay has failed and is constantly calling on 4: Still, it's over 20 years old so has done well. Surprised it fails "on" though. This one does downstairs CH and HW. Worst case tonight I swap it out for the same controller above that just does upstairs CH. Was debating renewing with a 3 channel controller maybe, that'll do 2x CH & 1x HW. Any suggestions on a make?

The Titan one on clearance at Screwfix gets reasonable reviews. I was tempted for £50...

Internal wall insulation 600mm masonry wall - condensation risk
Onoff replied to Robbie's topic in Heat Insulation
So if you insulate the floor too you bring the insulated pb down tight to it? -

Ta. I'm a bit lost. Says it can be used to "correct surface irregularities" which I get. Also to "create a service void". Is mainly to correct a wobbly wall? Then you insulate on top of this? -
He means TT, TN-S or TN-C-S earthing.

It's a good 5mm deep probably to the existing grout. Feels deep enough to just clean up and go over?

What's 'gypline frame'? You don't just stick the insulated pb to the inside face of the existing walls? Is there a vcl? -
Nothing says "I love you Faye!" like lead poisoning! ?

I know but should I grout it level with the tiles first to "bulk" it out?
-
Respect. Wouldn't know where to start.

What's the definition of "clean hard core"? Into any of mine I'll put: Brick Celcon Breeze Flints Roof tiles Ceramic, porcelain & quarry tiles Broken crockery Broken glass I avoid: Stuff I assume makes it "dirty": Timber, plastics, asbestos, rubble sacks, brick ties etc.

That's just the silicone bill!

Lidl's my favourite not Aldi. Can't fault the Workzone 140A inverter welder though. Got a 3/8" Workzone router that's dead due to the chuck locking piece being broken. Also a 230V staple gun of their's from years back that literally went bang when I pulled the trigger.
-
How the other 10% live! The two DG windows I had made to order last year came to about £200!
-
More good than bad with the newer Lidl Parkside 230V tools imo. Collated pb screw gun - v.good Multitool - can't fault it (well, quick change would be nice) SDS drill - second one I got and this sounds as dog rough as the first I took back to exchange. Pity as looks and feels like a Bosch, really tough and well made. Feels "right". Will be going back for a refund I think.

Doesn't matter, I'll KNOW! It'll actually be the 14mm tool: Tbh I cut the trim too short which would have help. The vertical to horizontal transition, below, is fairly critical as it'll be seen. Was half wondering whether to fill it flush with grout first THEN silicone as there'll be as better "bed" to work off of.
-
Thanks but chamfer wise that'd be the 12mm bead tool which imo would look enormous! There's the awkward what to do question then at the top where it has to blend into the horizontal 3" long bead in the corner of the shelf? Why not grout can I ask?

Can't actually remember my last alcoholic drink! 2 weeks +? Only just feeling hungry. What's the missing emoji?
