Been hankering after a cordless 36V chainsaw for a while. I already run Makita tools so have the batteries. The Makita twin 18V chainsaws seem to have been climbing in price to around £200 for a bare unit so... Thinking to buy one of these Einhell chainsaws at £120 from CPC: https://cpc.farnell.com/einhell/ge-lc-36-35-li-solo/36v-chainsaw-bare-unit/dp/SI18644? Then get my lad to print a couple of Makita battery to Einhell tool adapters: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2472385 Saving about £80 not buying a Makita tool. Hmmm...

Looks great, you should be very proud.

I would appear you can leave rusted steel components in a citric acid bath for too long. Been in there since November 10th! Might go fishing tomorrow and see what's left.
-
It will likely cause damp imo. I'd lose a foots width of deck and fill with something like Type 2 or flints etc and create a pseudo French drain.

There is actually a danger that this might even get welded up sometime...

Did a little bit of working from home this morning. Doing some pricing on an electrical mod. Amazing how many things RS discontinue and you have to find alternatives. Waiting for quotes too for specialist parts from the States. Answered a few works emails. Had lunch. Had a beer. Bent up the steel for my lawnmower deck repair.

This one's good too:

Cuprinol Anti Dlip Deck Stain really does what it says on the tin. I was dubious when SWMBO bought it but it's excellent. https://www.cuprinol.co.uk/products/anti-slip_decking_stain.jsp

My brother seems to think this will cut thin, circa 1mm, copper sheet: https://www.screwfix.com/p/erbauer-emcs650-650w-85mm-electric-mini-circular-saw-220-240v/906fx ???

Why not use the grooved, 22mm boards? For example: https://www.thefloorheatingwarehouse.co.uk/acatalog/Heatboard-Grooved-Board-System.html

I find leaving EACH joint overnight works...

I took it as a challenge to go solvent weld. I blame that Welsh fu.... ?

Yep, that's what I meant.

Hope he did. He was told! ?

Plug the bottom if you can. ?

How about some PVC gap filler wiped round with a gloved finger into the joints you're concerned about? Might be a bit messy but so what. https://www.tradingdepot.co.uk/polypipe-gap-filling-cement-gfc100

? Is the one @AnonymousBosch linked a brush on formulation? Mine's in a tub and like a paste.

Nope, this. https://www.wolseley.co.uk/product/center-center-jet-blue-plus-500-g/

See what I mean @BotusBuild, people on here have their favourites! So far we have: Jet Blue Plus Rectorseal Water Hawk Some say they find the Jet Blue Plus i use a bit greasy. (I don't). As I say if you go with one it's good to make sure it's safe on potable water. @Nickfromwales I think uses something else...

I dont use ptfe tape (any more) on compression fittings. Just Jet Blue Plus. You get NO weepage and that horrible green calcification as you call it. For me it was a revelation tbh. Others on here favour similar products.
-
Did you use Jet Blue Plus or similar on the compression joints or are you just relying on the olive? Wouldn't be weeping if you had. It's magic on brass fittings. They do up with no squeaking and do up tighter too without extra strain on the fitting. You can use Jet Blue Plus on potable water too whereas some pipe "sealants" you can't. https://www.wolseley.co.uk/product/center-center-jet-blue-plus-500-g/

Same here: https://www.tradingdepot.co.uk/compression-fitting-male-elbow-with-drain-off-22mm-x-3-4 Mind, I've time on my hands now to go and carry on looking in other places for the one like his original! ?

It's you, nothing surprises me! ?

I'm just big boned! If you don't bother with a shower screen your layout could come in well handy when you've got food poisoning. Just projectile vomit into the shower tray whilst sitting on the bog!
