I've gleaned from various sources that this is very likely an Aerial K12 platform. Made by Aerial the access division of the British Engines Group in Newcastle. In 1994 they replaced the K12/2 model with a series 2 model. I don't think Aerial are still part of the British Engines Group. I will ask around as to a manual. These platforms are from what I can see dirt cheap. (If I think something's cheap it must be). Maybe as you can't get spares for them and if you start making ad hoc repairs it brings up all sorts of LOLER issues. Often cheaper to scrap it or punt it out to Mr DIY!

Tbh they very likely ditched the wc there back in the day as if having no extraction it would have been a bit unpleasant for adjacent room users.

Speaking with someone ex the MEWPs industry and he reckons it could be an older Genie Z34 (12m) machine. Or an Upright as they were very similar. Off to ask others in the know!

You could disguise the loft hatch as a dropped ceiling section with LED lighting. I think @Barney12 did a feature in his kitchen like this (not with a hatch mind).

They were recommended to me. Rohan I dealt with there I just remembered. Used a couple of times. One time I paid extra for a faster delivery but the battery got damaged in transit hence never got delivered to me. Apology, good communications and an immediate refund of the courier charge.

Old clay pipe. I'd guess a soil pipe of some sort. Does it point towards any drains or manhole externally? Can't see it being live to a sewer etc or you'd be getting smells back up. Probably capped off in some way. Is there maybe an extension the other side of that wall? A drain camera would be useful to have a look round that bend. What's the pink square down the bottom? Might be a half brick cemented in. Might mean that it does go to a live run but how to get that brick out without damaging the clay pipe in the process! Careful, not hammer drilling maybe? Tipping a small bucket of water down and seeing if it comes out in a suspected drain is always an option.

See here 3 mins in. Compares ordinary MK grid and Quinetic grid. Not exactly the same feel but you'll have to accept that. Don't forget you can also get a dimmer receiver, a wifi enabled receiver or a wifi + dimmer receiver so you can control from your phone.

The home made blasting gun was a failure. Tried the Lidl Parkside sandblasting gun and that kept clogging. The other end goes on the long pipe which you stick into the blasting media. I did all that, found an airline fitting and screwed that into the bottom of the gun. The metal tube I poked into the big bag of (dry) crushed glass media I got. I drained the compressor of any water. Started blasting and all was good, cleaning up a strut mount top off the wife's old Pug. Very soon though it was just air, not sand coming out. (Same as happened with the Lidl Parkside gun). The air too appears damp as it darkens the metal you're pointing it at. It doesn't darken it when you start off and it's blasting OK. My very uneducated guess is I need a "moisture trap". Tbh I'm a bit of a compressor virgin. Always borrowed one if I've needed to use my nail guns. Spraying, I've only ever done from rattle cans. By a stroke of right place/right time luck I managed to score an Aldi Workzone 24L compressor for the princely sum of £29.95, new and delivered. https://www.aldi.co.uk/workzone-2-5hp-air-compressor/p/078920165026500 Coupled it with some cheap air tools from Aldi & Lidl and tbh it's all good so far. (Yet to try the cheapo spray gun). I think what I need is as I say a moisture trap maybe combined with an "oiler". I have no experience of either. Yes, it prolongs the tool life but surely it must deposit a film of oil on the workpiece that then needs degreasing? Any pointers to what's good/bad, what I should look for would be appreciated. Nothing wrong with a double thickness of felt at the ridge. A strip of lead is the ultimate! I'd put any battens down the slope of the roof so water runs off. Having them lengthways, i.e horizontal and crud just builds up behind them unless you start packing behind them. Just imho.

Put a Quinetic receiver where the existing switch is. Standard or dimming. You have L&N there coming in then switched live out? I can't see the need tbh for the underlying OSB over the whole area. I'd set up a laser and locally pack (like I did) to level it. You could stick the packs to the tiles then the CLS to the pack. Is there any insulation under that original, tiled floor? Guessing not. Filling between the CLS with insulation would be a good idea. It'd cut down on any drumming noise too as you walk across it.

I've seen Grade 304 bolts by the sea like a Swiss cheese, literally holes in them you could could see through. If you go stainless go 316 and nothing else.

Do you consider the switching in another room to be local and could you isolate it quickly? Btw, you don't want to be in a room where the isolation is if the exit is in the room where the equipment is.
